shucky Posted April 2, 2017 Posted April 2, 2017 I just wanted to update everyone that my experience has not been so great thus far. I placed an order on 1/27. I added a new item a couple days later which Jeremy had no problem adding to the existing order. He emailed me a few days later and gave me the impression that my order was being shipped. I heard nothing after that. I waited a month and still nothing so I emailed him again. He told me because I added an item to my order that it would mail out with the next batch of orders at the end of February, basically within a few days of this email exchange. He should not have given me the impression my order was being mailed 3-4 weks earlier if it was in fact not true. I waited until the last week of March and still have heard nothing. I never got his so called "email updates" not even once. So i emailed him about a week ago and asked if the order did in fact ship on 2/27. He said of course it did and he claimed that I replied to his "update" email basically answering my own question. Yet, he is referring to an email that I never received. Now we are in to April and still nothing. No update emails to speak of and no parts. I see others on his Facebook page receiving their orders but nothing for me. I emailed again last night and so far no response. I did resin for 2-3 years myself and know how difficult it can be with keeping up with orders and communications with the customers. This is exactly why I mainly sold only IN STOCK items through ebay and only took a few orders on the side. My customers got their parts within a few days, not months, and I kept my sanity by not always playing catch up. The shipping guidelines on his website are fairly clear and concise, but I do not believe he is meeting those timeframes he set for himself and what he informs to his customers. If he cannot satisfy orders in the time allowed and the timeframe he tells his customers he should revise his guidelines accordingly to prevent upsetting his clients. That is my opinion. Resin is a time consuming endeavor, and constantly taking orders and always being behind the 8 ball playing catch up is no fun at all. I do not care how nice his resin may be, if he is not truthful with the long wait times to his customers than he risks a shrinking client base. My order is well over $100 and I have no idea if and when I will ever get my parts. I may never order again based on this type of nonsense. To me the most upsetting part of this is his willingness to point towards his elaborate shipping guidelines on his website when asked a question. If he is going to reference that information he better be BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH certain he is following his own words to a "T." He isnt. Not at all, not in my instance. In almost 10 weeks I have received not a single "update" email unless I initiate contact first. If I am supposed to follow his guideline, so is he. If I ever get my parts I will update this thread.
shucky Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 Well, I have had a change of heart. The wait was long, and even longer considering the USPS lost my package for a week, but I finally received my order last night and have to say that Clearly Scale resin is some of, if not the finest resin I have ever purchased. It is 95% void of any flash or mold seams and bubble free. The smallest of details are present like tiny holes for spark plug wires, mounting points for engine components, etc. Fitment seems excellent as well. Clearly Scale makes some seriously high quality stuff and I am super impressed. I thanked Jeremy for putting up with me lol and even knowing there is a long'ish wait ... I will order again. Just wanted to update anyone who was on the fence about ordering.
ScottH454 Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 Do you have any idea what could take so long? Trying to understand what could take so long. My resin has a 30 to 40 minute demold time, few hours to clean the pour points, an few minutes to bag them. What part of that is taking 10 weeks?
cmfowler Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 (edited) My recent order took about 8 weeks. Have to agree it is some of the best resin I have seen. I understand a lot of the time is getting his main package out of Canada to his remailer here in the States. That is on top of his back log of orders. Edited April 20, 2017 by cmfowler

So he makes up a big batch and sends it to a guy in the states who breaks it up and sends each to the final recipients. Stuff can sit at customs for a while, too.

Yes...my orders from CS often spend 3 weeks in customs....I just basically order from CS and eventually they show up and I'm happy...I don't get why it's so slow and pricey to ship from Canada to the US, compared to Japan for instance. KWT Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 I remember being young, and saving the "flag points" off the back of my G.I. Joe's. Save enough and you got to send them in (plus $$$ shipping and handling) and get a free Cobra Commander, Sgt. Slaughter, or the Crimson Guard.. yeah I'm a dork... Allow 8-10 weeks for delivery. I remember being so excited... But over the 8-10 weeks... Or longer... my brother and I would forget all about it. My parents never ranted and raved about Hasbro not calling or letting them know what was taking so long... Im just making a general statement. Not aimed at anyone. Just saying relax, and see what happens before you go bat shiz crazy. I ordered from the Jeremy sometime in the middle of Feb. Haven't heard a thing. It'll get here when it gets here. It it could get here in 2 days, you could order it off Amazon.

As far as saving points as a kid, I remember doing that to get a 'free' kit from MPC as a kid...Golden Wheels.. Edited April 20, 2017 by Rob Hall
American 185 Heavy Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 I placed an order in early December, made a few inquiries and never received an update other than an inventory sheet twice but not an actual answer. When I pressed him on the issue in February, he got rather defensive and indignant. I finally got sick of waiting, and got Paypal involved in it. I received half my order In March and they gave me a refund on the other 1/2 as obviously he doesn't communicate well with them either. But he is fast to sit on your money. His lack of answers speaks volumes and under no circumstances would I do business with him again. And I certainly don't buy this remailer delivery to U.S. nonsense and time involved etc. that he hides behind. I deal with foreign sellers all the time via other vendors and get my items in three to four weeks maximum, usually three. His merchandise may be great, but what you have to go through to obtain it is just not worth it. And it is not an accredited business with Paypal either come to find out. Caveat Emptor....let the buyer beware
Randy D Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 (edited) Hi Folks, Jeremy from Clearly Scale is in the process of establishing retailers such as myself to sell his products here in the US with the goal of smoothing out the distribution system. I currently stock his engine sets, seats, detail wire, brakes and accessories with more to come. http://modelbuilderswh.com/ Thanks, Randy Edited May 19, 2017 by Randy D

J.G. Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 (edited) I've gotten 2 orders of parts from clearly scale now, the first in february, when I learned he'd a problem with laptop and lost email accounts access, which I totally understand since that has happened to me before, was delay in communications, but he did respond and apologized for the delay and pointed out was a really super busy time for him with record volume of orders, but and parts arrived in the time period quoted on his web store, a 3 week production lead time, plus shipping time. My friend in the states had a longer wait, but is posted bulletins usa shipping info on web store http://www.clearlyscale.com/product/must-read-usa-shipping-bulletin through a usa remailer, in groups of orders, which makes sense to get that shipping cost so way low only $5 instead of $15 or more, like the small package I had shipped from here to usa cost me over $15. My second order just arrived and arrived even faster, and again really super clean parts, like really good! I opened packages, dumping one engine set on the floor and lost a couple of parts, which he sent to me right away and no cost after I sent email asking to purchase missing parts. I'm amazed how he keeps up to the volume of orders he gets, I wouldn't be able to do that. Thank you jeremy for the great parts and great service! Edited July 24, 2017 by J.G.
John Pol Posted July 19, 2017 Posted July 19, 2017 I wouldn`t order from him its all american funds and he lives in canada no thanks
mademan Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 (edited) Ive got basically everything he makes, and multiples of some of the engines and challenger/cutlass parts...... Ive never had an issue with anything and honestly its some of the cleanest resin i've worked with. John Pol, simply convert the price to Canadian dollars and his parts are priced competitively with most other aftermarket suppliers..... Edited July 20, 2017 by mademan
fumi Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 I never had any problem with them. I live halfway around the globe from Jeremy and I always receive my order within a month, communication is never a problem and the parts are top notch.
Rob Hall Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 (edited) The slowness of the package moving through Canada Post, customs, and the USPS adds 3-4 weeks to a typical order. I haven't had a problem yet in getting parts from CS, really nice parts. Have done about 10 successful orders over the last couple of years..waiting on a Challenger Hellcat parts order now. I've always received a reply to my emails. Edited July 20, 2017 by Rob Hall
J.G. Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 of course it is in USD , he says right on the web page bulletins that over 75% of his buyers are from the USAmy girlfriend has as small craft store online is Canadian also , she does the same thing , majority of her buyers are from USA and the rest from all over the world , so her prices set in USD because everyone can relate to that as a base linethat does not matter anyway because when you make the payment through paypal , it automatically converts into your local currencythese are handmade items Jeremy produces , his prices are very reasonable given that and the quality, and Amazing quality! I'm amazed how he can produce so many as he does? he does it all by himself too! he makes every single tiny part by hand , i mean Thousands of tiny parts , all trimmed of flash and sands them smooth , even fixes any tiny air bubbles! my seats has small air bubble fixed , he filled and sanded smooth the tiny hole , and that was on the bottom of the seat where no one is going to see it anyways! I've not ever seen that done on any other resin vendors partshaving spoken with him a few times now on email, I know he's been very frustrated by the slowness and communications issues, he is working well beyond maximum capacity for a one man shop in my opinion , and said he is working on finding ways to improve things for better , and spoke about how this past 8 or 10 months has been completely overwelmed by the surprise volume he's seenI for one will definitely become a regular customerI wouldn`t order from him its all american funds and he lives in canada no thanks
Zoom Zoom Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 I do know that the shipping method to the US adds time, I've only made one order but I was quite pleased with the items I received and I will be ordering more in the future; as usual with any aftermarket company, allow enough time to receive the parts, don't order them a day or a week before you need them.
Quick GMC Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 I wouldn`t order from him its all american funds and he lives in canada no thanksHow are you rationalizing this?
J.G. Posted July 21, 2017 Posted July 21, 2017 Those are both very good pointsHe says on web page that USA buyer can request airmail for the additional cost of $10 or more , so that sounds right because to buy a kit online costs me shipping of $16 plus cost of kit , or else automatically goes out by their remailer system which is only $5 or $6 total cost i think? there is no service here that can ship for that cheap with a delivery confirmationStill is the production time needed to make the orders , his page says 3 weeks , mine was about two weeks then shippedI know is more expensive to ship the same size of package from Canada to USA , than it is USA to Canada , with tracking and a delivery confirmationCanada post prices are high compared to other countries , even for sending within CanadaI sent a kit size and weight package to family member about 3 hours drive away , and forced to send by tracked post was $14 , they wont allow packages now without tracking option purchased
