matthijsgrit Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 I would really appreciate a sheet of under hood decals like theseDitto!
matthijsgrit Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 And a "Make your own" licence plate sheet with blank plates depicting all states at a certain time period (say 1950s or 1960s) and letters and numbers that are separate and can be added to the blank plates. I've seen this on some Aoshima decal sheets. Great way to personalize ones plates... And it seems not to hard to produce...

And it seems not to hard to produce...A fellow Norwegian has made decals with Norwegian style plates just like this. He made them up in different scales (1:18, 1:24, 1:43, 1:35 and 1:87 I think) one sheet has several "blank" licenceplates and a huge amount of letters and numbers so that one can combine them to whatever one wants. He sells them at shows and such and I think it has been quite succefull. I think that a similar thing with US style plates would be a great seller.
GaryR Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 Guess nobody remembers Chuck Farley and the double entendre AMT 60's decal sheets! Too bad! LOL
pack rat Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 Guess nobody remembers Chuck Farley and the double entendre AMT 60's decal sheets! Too bad! LOLI remember Gary. I'm not sure if he drove any other cars, but I know he piloted the '64 Bonneville convertible stock car (!?).In fact, John Greczula and I had a little laugh about Chuck a couple of years ago.

Casey Posted March 18, 2017 Author Posted March 18, 2017 Round2's Parts Pack decal sheet is finished, and pics are up on Instagram. https://www.instagram.com/round2models/
oldcarfan Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 I put my suggestions in to them, but there are some pie in the sky ones that would be cool too. I know the licensing would be a nightmare and there's probably not much of a demand for it, but I would love to see some classic racing liveries, Ecurie Ecossie, Martini, Gulf with their blue and orange markings, stuff like that since retro seems to be cool in street outlaw Porsches and others. Decals of the less common Nascar race drivers and teams for current as well as old cars would be cool too, in fact it would be nice to have decals for currently available kits to give alternative versions...
gtx6970 Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 Why is there an mpc 1970 challenger at that link?
ChrisBcritter Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 Some good stuff on there - the license plate decals appear to be for trucks, and I think the "Oakland Builder Supply Company" logos are from the '70s issue '65 El Camino? Will be interesting to see the complete sheets and the prices.
oldcarfan Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 I agree about the vintage repops, especially since many of them have additional art added. I also have a number of van kits that would benefit from the dirty Don van decals. I did purchase a couple directly from Round2 but could use more. I was going to fire off a response to their post after seeing this but sitting awhile and thinking, there's quit a bit of subject matter that would be nice to see. I think for many of their re-releases there are many of us who have older/original kits that could benefit from a new set of decals, take the newly issued '49 Ford coupe for example. That's the way I look at it. The majority of releases are actually re-releases of old kits. Even a lot of the new tools are modern, better versions of cars and trucks that have long been out. Camaros and such. It would be nice for those of us who like 'history' to replicate a kit the way it might have been done in 1963 or whatever. Trans Am sets for Camaros and Mustangs and CHallengers and Cudas? Freds Cady used to have this covered, but no one does this anymore as far as I know. It would still take a lot of scratch building, but at least the decals would be available. Also with the release of a lot of the 70s MPC kits, it would be nice to build some Pro Stock cars for which we could use decals. Finally, I know it's a different manufacturer and all, but I would love to see the Hardy Boys, Charlie's Angels and Kiss decals reissued for the Revell Chevy Van as well.
