microwheel Posted March 8, 2017 Posted March 8, 2017 Well done on the BMF work Geoff. Your build is really coming along nicely. I really like how cleanly everything is turning out, especially the interior and engine.
GeeBee Posted March 8, 2017 Author Posted March 8, 2017 (edited) Even though the clear glass parts have been sealed inside the plastic bag, there were still a few scuff marks on them, so out come the Holts motorcycle polish, the photo of the two together shows the one polished and the other still to be done One Polished ... One still to be done .... (On the right) Polished used ..... Edited March 8, 2017 by GeeBee
GeeBee Posted March 9, 2017 Author Posted March 9, 2017 Got the front windshield polished this morning
GeeBee Posted March 15, 2017 Author Posted March 15, 2017 Front windshield fitted, just the rear one to fit, and I'm pleased to say my photo etch tools arrived from China, took just over 3 weeks, but it was free shipping, sent via the silk road I think ..... so now I can crack on with the photo etch, started off by taping the detail set to a strip of masking tape, and started polishing it using flat sanding pads, started with 4000, then 6000 and then 8000, starting to look like chrome now.
GeeBee Posted March 15, 2017 Author Posted March 15, 2017 I really could do with my eyesight I had 30 years ago ....
microwheel Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 I really could do with my eyesight I had 30 years ago .... I hear ya on the eye sight thing. Having the same issues myself. Seems even with my new glasses I struggle to see the fine detail work. Nice job on the interior.
beeRS Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 Got the front windshield polished this morning Nice work with the polished glass Geoff. One idea I've always wanted to do is use the Future shine that many on here talk of. I've never found that product here in England. Is it something you've come across?
espo Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 The paint work looks fantastic and I like the color a lot.

OldNYJim Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 This is the stuff I use - I found it on the English Amazon site...hopefully this works...https://www.amazon.co.uk/27OZ-FUTURE-FLOOR-FINISH-Kitchen/dp/B000ARPH4C
David G. Posted March 16, 2017 Posted March 16, 2017 Fantastic work Geoff- Paint, detail, everything looks great!David G.
GeeBee Posted March 30, 2017 Author Posted March 30, 2017 About time I got back to working on this one, so today I pulled it out, got the rear screen fitted, using the 5 minute fix, brilliant stuff, and got the body fitted onto the chassis, it didn't want to sit on the front of the chassis, but some 5 minute epoxy, a few clamps and masking tape, and it was sorted ....
Lovefordgalaxie Posted March 30, 2017 Posted March 30, 2017 It's looking better and better!!! A masterpiece on the making. I just used PU parts on one car, a '62 'Bird, and went back to box stock. This trend of adding aftermarket detail can get out of control really fast.
crowe-t Posted March 30, 2017 Posted March 30, 2017 (edited) Geoff, This is a beautiful build! Everything about it is just wonderful. What brand of clear did you use on the body? Is the clear airbrushed or sprayed out of a can? I haven't finished reading though all your posts, so I apologize for asking if you already mentioned it.Mike. Edited March 30, 2017 by crowe-t
StevenGuthmiller Posted March 31, 2017 Posted March 31, 2017 This is shaping up to be quite possibly the nicest example of this kit I've seen since it was introduced, & I've seen a lot of them! Here is another prime example of how a factory stock build can put all of the customs to shame!Absolutely beautiful Geoff!!
