iBorg
Sorta like a rolling demo derby. I wonder how angry the drivers get with each other?

Kit Basher
It's alive and well today. Oh! Bleeping bleep! That fellow seems to have a limited vocabulary. It does look like tons of fun, tho. Edited January 31, 2017 by Kit Basher
Phirewriter
Seems like a sorry waste of vintage tin. That Imperial looks like it was pretty solid.
roym
Not just a waste of vintage tin. Also rumblings of people's pride and joy being stolen to order for such events. https://motorhipster.co.uk/2016/01/11/cortina-crime-wave-are-banger-racers-to-blame/
Junkman
Unfortunately, there are are quite a few vintage cars getting destroyed even today. (And where the he are they finding Imperials?) http://startrax.info/_Assets/Documents/Unlimited Bangers.pdf "Chrysler Imperial chassied cars are not permitted for use from 1st March 2015" Besides, those "vintage cars" getting destroyed even today aren't what they seem to be.Have you ever had a closer look at them in the paddocks? Most of them are the leftover rotten shells of parts cars having donated all their useable bits to keepother classics on the road, held together with boiler plate, chicken wire and wob, on delivery van axlesand fitted with Ford V6 engines that are transferred from one car to the next. Many of them are also insurance write offs that can't be returned to the road legally.I have found the banger racing community an excellent source of spares with many of them goingout of their way to help you find that elusive part.Don't forget that these guys are no lesser car enthusiasts as we are.
