mrmike Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 (edited) This is my Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG by Revell of Germany. It is painted with Tamiya TS-85 Bright Mica Red with a Model Master Flat Interior Tan seats and instrument panel and build box stock. Edited February 7, 2017 by mrmike
Jhedir6 Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 Looks really good Mike. If I might? Redo the pics and lose the orange/yellow back drop, it kind of kills the red. While or black to make the red stand out, that colour kind of washes the red out to my eyes.David
bbowser Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 Looks great, neat clean work. How was the ROG kit?
mrmike Posted February 9, 2017 Author Posted February 9, 2017 Thanks guys! Looks really good Mike. If I might? Redo the pics and lose the orange/yellow back drop, it kind of kills the red. I need to play around with the camera settings again. The red overpowers the camera settings and turns the background into a yellow or the red turns into pink or orange, especially in sunlight. I changed the white balance setting and reshot the pictures. I should have used the flash as the pictures are a bit dark even with two 100 watt bulbs overhead.
Ron Hamilton Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 I love the model!!!! I have been interested in this car ever since I saw a Silver Factory car when it was new. After seeing your building thread, I pulled the trigger and bought one for myself. I also bought one of the Tamiya 300 Gull Wings as a companion build.
mrmike Posted February 11, 2017 Author Posted February 11, 2017 Thanks Ron and Marty! Ron, I saw a 1:1 SLS AMG at an intersection once and when the light turned green, it made a very un-Mercedes type of exhaust note that left my mouth hanging open. It was glorious!
D. Battista Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 Nice lookin' Mercedes...! nice color choice....
mrmike Posted February 14, 2017 Author Posted February 14, 2017 Thanks everyone! I should take new and brighter lit pictures of this Mercedes. Even now they look a little dark.
