59 Impala Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 I just finished this today. It is a Jimmy Flintstone resin body and I used parts from the 49 and 50 Ford kits to finish it. The paint is Gold pearl powder in clear on top and Copper pearl powder in clear on the sides. on top of that I sprayed a multi colored glitter on and that doesn't show up in the pictures. I also used Gold bare metal foil for the side trim and I used Tamiya clear yellow on the chrome parts for the Gold look on them. Thanks fer lookin. Dan
Sixties Sam Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 Sweet looking custom! It has a late 1950s - early 1960s look with that front end. Very good work!Sam
59 Impala Posted February 21, 2017 Author Posted February 21, 2017 Thanks Sam, that's what I was going for, a 50's or 60's look. Dan
espo Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 Beautiful build. You really captured the early '50's Custom look. Very original paint scheme.
59 Impala Posted February 22, 2017 Author Posted February 22, 2017 Thanks for the kind comments guys. I enjoyed building this car. I had to learn stuff the hard way though. After I painted it, I had to adjust the inside of the body so everything would fit. It turned out Ok and I'll do more test fitting if there is another next time for one of these. LOL. Dan
PARTSMARTY Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 It looks amazing-love the color combo !!!
59 Impala Posted February 22, 2017 Author Posted February 22, 2017 Thanks for the kind words guys. I have a convertible that I'm working on now with the custom horizontal lights. I haven't decided on the color for this one yet. Dan
