cobraman Posted March 14, 2017 Posted March 14, 2017 Started with the Street Fighter 60's panel Chevy. Wanted to do something a little different so I decided to try and make an El Camino of sorts out of it. I sliced off the roof and used sheet plastic to make the rear body panel. I removed the molded in spare tire on the floor and finished it with black and white splatter type paint and used self stick black felt for floor. I stripped some of the chrome plating. I modified the tail light by removing a center section and replaced with sheet plastic painted black. The body is a bright orange and the hood stripes are metallic black. Then body was clear coated. I did not use the flip up front end because I just could not get it to fit right. Turned out ok I guess. Comments as always are welcome pro or con.
Intmd8r Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 I agree completely-the El Camino version looks less like a cartoon, more bad a $$!
Jmaracing Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 Great looking build Ray. Cool idea and you did a great job!!
crazyjim Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 Very slick conversion, Ray. Never seen that done before. I like the SHINY
donb Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 Great work Ray. I really like what you did here. It does look bad a $$!
Ace-Garageguy Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 Cool little truck, nice conversion, perfect colors for it.Â
Reuhkapelti Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 Really nice work there! I made a 73 El Camino conversion using a 76 Chevelle nascar body.Â
Nacho Z Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 Now that is just downright cool! Nice execution of a neat idea.Â
cobraman Posted March 16, 2017 Author Posted March 16, 2017 I have one but it did not come out very clear. Will try and remember to take one tomorrow.
bobthehobbyguy Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 Nicely done. Looks great. Like the color choice.
