Paul Hettick Posted March 18, 2017 Author Posted March 18, 2017 The lower ridge does need a little clean up, like I said this is not quite done yet.. Funny I did not notice the taillight is a little too big until I saw the photos. Thank you all for your enthusiasm! Had no idea the 66 would hold this kind of interest. Look for 65 through 68 Fords and 65 66 Mercs to be built from this platform. Would like to be able to sell these soon, but with the resin thieves, the Squire must be done as well as a few other years or sure enough I'll get ripped off.
American 185 Heavy Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 If you end up doing a 67 or 68 Colony Park wagon, you can count me in. Die hard Mercury fan here and would love one !!!
gardnerpag44 Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 Definitely interested in getting one or more of these , very cool
ranma Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 T.M.Resin makes a 67 Galaxy wagon already. But then I'd buy it from t.m.resin before paying Paul's prices! Besides I don't think t.m.resin steals other work either, And I'm not saying Paul does that.
dimaxion Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 I agree Another agree . Beautiful work .. Thanx ..
Paul Hettick Posted June 21, 2017 Author Posted June 21, 2017 Finally finished the master up. The first grill I did posted here just looked worse and worse the more I looked at it so did it over from scratch. Will show pics soon. I will be selling kits, Not ready to do so at this time. Be patient my friends.
gbt216 Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 Thanks for the update, Paul. 'Been curious how it's been coming along; Patiently, but anxiously awaiting!gt
Paul Hettick Posted June 21, 2017 Author Posted June 21, 2017 Thanks Gordon. Been busy working on other masters as well. Here's the photos of the completed project ready for molds. The interior pics can be seen earlier in this thread.
mike 51 Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 I like this a lot.2 ?s----.will the kit have the chrome done? what parts will needed to finish the build?
Paul Hettick Posted June 22, 2017 Author Posted June 22, 2017 Thank you Mike. All that is required is an AMT 66 Galaxie kit. I'm planning on having plated parts. 1
espo Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Great looking wagon. In the photo of the driver's side the rear quarter panel under the Country Sedan logo looks like it may need some additional work. It may just be the photo.
gbt216 Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Great photo updates, Paul. Thanks! Everything looks like it's coming together; the grille is looking more and more like the real one. Cool!gt
Paul Hettick Posted June 25, 2017 Author Posted June 25, 2017 Thank you for your compliment. Yes David, theres a wiggle on the left 1/4 panel. I'll correct them by hand before they are sold. Having an issue on the master with resin reacting with styrene turning the styrene into a thick liquid. Thats what caused the wiggle.
mod3l Lover Posted June 26, 2017 Posted June 26, 2017 This would be soooooo great Paul!! Wagon are thenew cool build, and Ford wagon are even better. David S.
Dave Toups Posted July 21, 2017 Posted July 21, 2017 That's looking great Paul!! I can't wait until it's ready. It's a "must buy" for me!
Paul Hettick Posted August 15, 2017 Author Posted August 15, 2017 I have a few of these built up to check fit quality and such. I can post pics if you all would like to see them. Keep in mind the kits won't be available for a while.
sfhess Posted August 15, 2017 Posted August 15, 2017 Looking forward to this as a kit. Also would it be possible at some time to get the front grille separately? I had a 66 Galaxie 500 2-door as my first car and it would be so cool to build a replica.
Paul Hettick Posted August 15, 2017 Author Posted August 15, 2017 Here's a couple of built ups. Yes I will offer the bumper/ grill unit. The wheelcovers are from Scenes Unlimited. I will do a better taillight before the kit hits production. 1
MrObsessive Posted August 15, 2017 Posted August 15, 2017 Paul, those look fantastic!! While not my favorite Ford of the '60's, I'd take that green one!
