Paul Hettick Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 Here's the finished body and rear bumper. The interior can be seen in my previous post.
Paul Hettick Posted March 19, 2017 Author Posted March 19, 2017 Well almost finished, now I see a few spots that need attention.
MrObsessive Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 (edited) Just the same, that looks nigh perfect Paul! I used to hate wagons when I was a kid and then later when IÂ started driving, now I wouldn't mind one because you don't see them, and I'm certainly not a fan of SUV's or minivans! Greg Wann Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 Hey Paul, You are making some very nice master parts as usual.  Who will be making the molds for you?
High octane Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 Well almost finished, now I see a few spots that need attention.I'm likin' your wagons and may be interested in one or two when you start to sell the resin copies. What is the name of your company? Thanks.
Ron Hamilton Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 I can see one of them in Black, with a red interior on my shelf.
socal76 Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 Paul just on the slim chance would this body fit the '66 mercury? I have an extra one of those but no extras of the '64's
sfhess Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 Paul just on the slim chance would this body fit the '66 mercury? I have an extra one of those but no extras of the '64'sMaybe, but note that the 65 Mercury is completely different from the 63-64. Interior is different, and the chassis changed from leaf springs in the rear to coils and front suspension changed too. Frame also totally different. If you have a 64 Galaxie that would be closer as a donor.Â
dimaxion Posted March 21, 2017 Posted March 21, 2017 Is it possible to purchase the Galaxie Wheel Covers for the '66 MY ? Thanx ..Â
Paul Hettick Posted March 21, 2017 Author Posted March 21, 2017 Thanks for your kind words everyone. I will try and answer a few of the questions. Yes they will have plated parts, a 66 Merc kit wont work because it doesn't have the correct hood or front bumper. I will be offering a 66 Merc Colony Park trans kit in the future. What are the Galaxie wheel covers for the 66 MY?
dimaxion Posted March 21, 2017 Posted March 21, 2017 Not the ones in the MY Kit or Promo  Those are XL , not Galaxie . Thanx .. Â
sfhess Posted March 21, 2017 Posted March 21, 2017 The Revell Bronco has wheel covers similar to 66 Galaxie covers.
Paul Hettick Posted March 22, 2017 Author Posted March 22, 2017 still not sure what a MY kit is. btw the caps that come in the 66 AMT kit were optional across the board from 66 to 68.
ChrisBcritter Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 (edited) MY=Model year.I was hoping the Bronco wheelcovers (the rear ones without the 4WD hubs) would be correct for a regular '66, but from what I hear, they're undersized. Can anyone measure a set and tell us the actual diameter? Maybe they can be adapted with a ring around them. Edited March 22, 2017 by ChrisBcritter
Maindrian Pace Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 Chief Joseph/Fireball Modelworks offers the Bronco/'66 Galaxie wheelcovers in corrected form.
socal76 Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 Only reason I asked about the '66 Merc is that I have an extra of that but not the '64 Merc. Guess I will have to sacrifice one of my Nascar builds for a wagon!
ranma Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 Once again I'll ask: how much and how do we get one? Do you have a web site that you sell from?
Paul Hettick Posted March 24, 2017 Author Posted March 24, 2017 These will not be available until late summer/ early fall. Sales will be through ebay. No website at this time. No plans on starting a mail order business as I don't have the time now. That may change in the future. Thanks for your interest.
