bbowser Posted April 29, 2017 Posted April 29, 2017 (edited) Completed last night. This was a terrible kit to get together. AMT from back in the day, every part needed massaging of some sort. No positive locations for any of the chrome, bumpers, etc. Still I'm pleased with the way it came out. This is the first in a project where I intend to build all 7 generations of Corvettes. I have all the kits in hand except a C7, waiting to see if a full detail glue kit comes out. If not the Revell curbside will do. Thanks for looking, comments welcome! AC Norton Posted April 29, 2017 Posted April 29, 2017 ....I sure like this, Bruce....and I know what you mean about the kit being a little tough to get everything together to ones liking....I have 2 original MPC 56/57 Corvette '8 in 1' kit's I have been itching to build, and seeing yours give's me that inspiration....nice work there....best, the Ace...
espo Posted April 29, 2017 Posted April 29, 2017 Great looking build, especially considering the kit. I've given up on two and only use them for parts now.
D. Battista Posted April 29, 2017 Posted April 29, 2017 Sounds like a cool project..! the '57 came out real nice...! Nice color choice..
MrObsessive Posted April 29, 2017 Posted April 29, 2017 For a kit that was tough, it's sure lookin' mighty nice!!
Dann Tier Posted April 29, 2017 Posted April 29, 2017 Turned out fantastic considering what you went through!! -I have this kit too, and thought it looked like a nightmare to me, then again, I think most AMT kits are a nightmare.
donb Posted April 29, 2017 Posted April 29, 2017 Great looking build. Those early AMT kits were tough for sure. You did a great job on it though!
Snake45 Posted April 30, 2017 Posted April 30, 2017 Stop whining, it came out FINE, and you should be very proud of it!
bbowser Posted April 30, 2017 Author Posted April 30, 2017 Stop whining, it came out FINE, and you should be very proud of it! LOL! Thanks for all the kind words.
MrObsessive Posted April 30, 2017 Posted April 30, 2017 Looks great. So this isn't the 90's tooling? This is the old MPC '60's tooling-----thus the fiddly nature of how it goes together. I have the 1/16 scale version of this car, and it's just as fiddly as this one despite the larger scale.
Jim N Posted May 5, 2017 Posted May 5, 2017 Great work Bruce. Good luck building the rest of the Vettes. Should be a fun project.
