landman Posted June 1, 2017 Posted June 1, 2017 (edited) I think I'm ready for another truck. I have a Big Horn waiting. I think it is a Frontier Resins piece. I posted three photos of where I could go with it; -Working rig, I have a KFS crane which would go well with that. -Road tractor with daycab. -Fully gussied up road tractor with sleeper and plenty of bling. Tesla Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 Incorporating the KFS crane would be nice! Whichever way you choose, I know it will look great.
landman Posted June 2, 2017 Author Posted June 2, 2017 I like the daycab. The Tackaberry's always do a nice job with their trucksIs the type of toolbox on the Tackaberry truck available on the aftermarket? I suppose it could be scratch built easy enough. What is it called?

Mopar - D Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 Pat another great model subject to build and any of your 3 types will look good. This a Frontier resin cab I built mine as a dump truck a couple years ago. I used the Chevy Titan head lights instead of the 4 that are on the cast. Looking forward to see where you go with this one.
landman Posted June 2, 2017 Author Posted June 2, 2017 AITM calls it a Step Tool Box. He has 5 sizes from 12 inch up to 36 inch. STB1 thru STB5.http://www.aitruckmodels.com/pages/kitsparts.html Scroll down to Tool Boxes & Step boxes. The Moebius Lonestar kit also has one thats plated. Thank you sir. Never even thought of looking there.

landman Posted June 3, 2017 Author Posted June 3, 2017 (edited) More for the sounding board. While it looks like they ran mostly 250 Cummins I thought I'd go a different route. I have : CAT 3406, NTC 475 (twin turbo), CAT 1160, Detroit Series 60, 12V71T and two Mercedes engines which would nod to the brief Daimler-Chrysler association which occurred many years later. 1930fordpickup Posted June 4, 2017 Posted June 4, 2017 Pat that hood is long enough for a V16 Hemi. Going to be cool.
Fordboy1975 Posted June 4, 2017 Posted June 4, 2017 If I were you, I would have gotten 3 and did all of them!nice start!havent seen many of these resin kits around.

gatorincebu Posted June 4, 2017 Posted June 4, 2017 Pat, I like the resin cab. For me it is a toss up between .The daycab , and the flatbed with the crane ! Be Well Gator

DRIPTROIT 71 Posted June 5, 2017 Posted June 5, 2017 With your talent at scratch building engines you may consider a "Big Allis".
landman Posted June 5, 2017 Author Posted June 5, 2017 With your talent at scratch building engines you may consider a "Big Allis".It sure is pretty, purple and everything.
Superpeterbilt Posted June 5, 2017 Posted June 5, 2017 A rare truck like that calls for a rare motor, my vote is for the Big Al. I also vote for the daycab.
landman Posted June 5, 2017 Author Posted June 5, 2017 (edited) While all this is going on the cab is mounted in the "Straightenerupper" to alleviate a body twist. Edited December 3, 2020 by landman

olsbooks Posted June 5, 2017 Posted June 5, 2017 very nice and really like your "shop". Just to throw one more power plant oddity, keeping in the bloodlines of Mopar, and seeing your obvious talents, how about a Chrysler "eggbeater" tank engine?Peace
