landman Posted July 17, 2017 Author Posted July 17, 2017 (edited) Did some painting over the weekend - Frame, interior and alcladed the headlight surrounds and the Ram hood ornament. Edited December 10, 2020 by landman
landman Posted July 18, 2017 Author Posted July 18, 2017 (edited) Opened up holes in the bumper and cleaned up the recesses for the fog lights. Made a driveshaft to fit. Then I realized that when I worked on the doghouse I had done so without the exhaust pipe in place. Back to the drawing board so to speak. Edited December 10, 2020 by landman
landman Posted July 19, 2017 Author Posted July 19, 2017 (edited) Made up some rad hoses. Reworked the dog house to fit over the exhaust pipe. Made a "heat shield" to hide the ungainly joint of the exhaust pipe Edited December 10, 2020 by landman
landman Posted July 26, 2017 Author Posted July 26, 2017 (edited) Haven't touched this in about a week. Added a few parts and details to the frame. This is roughly what it'll look like. Coat of orange to the dash. Edited December 10, 2020 by landman
landman Posted July 26, 2017 Author Posted July 26, 2017 (edited) Worked on the firewall this morning. Found an air filter which will work. I think it is from an International. Edited December 10, 2020 by landman
landman Posted July 27, 2017 Author Posted July 27, 2017 (edited) Worked on the dash & firewall Edited December 10, 2020 by landman
landman Posted July 27, 2017 Author Posted July 27, 2017 (edited) Completed the firewall (adding to the existing features), the air cleaner, and added red accents to the wheel hubs. Edited December 10, 2020 by landman
landman Posted July 28, 2017 Author Posted July 28, 2017 Looking good Pat. Hey Dan, could you post you short stacked Dodge here so I can make a decision on this one - short vs long. I thought the mean short look would be good here.
landman Posted July 29, 2017 Author Posted July 29, 2017 (edited) Working on a headache rack/stack support similar to the one I had made for the CNT 900. Edited December 10, 2020 by landman

landman Posted July 29, 2017 Author Posted July 29, 2017 (edited) Took the big plunge and cut off the hood. My headache rack was intended to sit on the frame but I found it didn't allow the exhaust pipes to clear the tanks. So I built a stand for it. Squared up and glues the rack. Added the quarter fenders Edited December 10, 2020 by landman
landman Posted July 31, 2017 Author Posted July 31, 2017 (edited) Made up some AC decals. Didn't know whether to use the old or the new so I used both. Edited December 10, 2020 by landman
DrKerry Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 Looks awesome Pat!!!!!!!! Coming along nicely!!!!!
landman Posted August 2, 2017 Author Posted August 2, 2017 (edited) Cut and fitted a windshield, er.. three windshields. A major battle. Filed off the cast nuts on either side of the grille bottom and replaced them with Meng nuts. We have primer. Edited December 10, 2020 by landman
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 Looking great Pat!! I cut over 10 windshields for my Bighorn before I got one right.
landman Posted August 2, 2017 Author Posted August 2, 2017 Now we are at the point where it gets painted, my weak point. I'll need advice from you guys. I want to do it in pearl gray with the bodyside molding in the same red as the frame, sorta the same scheme as the first two in the first post. Also, I want to Alclad the grille and surround. Here is the chicken and egg question: Do I do the body color first and the grille and molding after or vice versa? I think the Alclad is a forgone conclusion as the less it is handled the better it stays but the molding.....
