Slotto Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 Just finished up this one. The silver outside and red inside are both Duplicolor. Also used a Molotow 1mm pen to touch up the trim. The wheels are from the Boyd Shezoom kit by Testors. This was a hoot to build as a street car. I had some trouble deciding on which wheels I would use but I'm happy with my decision. No real troubles building this but I did find the glass a little strange. It was more like vinyl than plastic. I used the stock front suspension and was able to make the front wheels poseable. For the engine, I added my usual heater hoses -this is the easiest add to any model and I feel they look the part. I did manage to add plug wires and a distributor as well as add a fuel line and a filter. This is the first time I've added a fuel filter. It was a piece of clear tree drilled out. The radiator hose is a piece of 18 gauge wire with the rubber shield on. I didn't add the air cleaners because I didn't want to hide those cool carbs and fuel lines. I placed her on a piece of mirror that I got from The Dollar Tree. I bent up some paper clips to make stilts so you can see the under side. I decided against pipes and mufflers just to tick off the neighbors. Thanks for looking
berr13 Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 Man, that's nice! Really like the way it sits, and the paint is fine!
espo Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 I followed your build and really like how this turned out. Are this tires from the Boyd kit also ?? I like the tread pattern and would like to use some. The engine detailing of the inner fenders and firewall add a lot of realism. I will be using your idea on the fuel filters in the future, its getting hard to find diodes anymore.

Maybe Tamiya.

Dodge Driver Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 its getting hard to find diodes anymore. I got my diodes from ebay, David. All types/quantities are available there.
moparfarmer Posted July 5, 2017 Posted July 5, 2017 Real nice looking job on your Dodge..You mentioned the glass..I did a 64 Plymouth with the 2 dr sedan roof grafted on and yes the glass seemed different..Glued it real good..Turned out okay but my rear glass came out like yours..Didn't seem to fit in the crevice nice and tight..Very nice job and clean,clean,clean..
