MrObsessive Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 I'm ready for fall, also. Unfortunately freezing weather & snow come soon after. One of the reasons I'm not a fan of Autumn-------it's what comes after! I don't look forward to another very snowy winter like the last two we had here in Central PA.
tbill Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 We get one week of summer, this was it? We will be back to freezing in no time.......
Rob Hall Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Feels like fall here in Cleveland now..59 degrees this morning...loving it compared to what I dealt with in Phoenix.
bugman9317 Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Feels like fall here in Cleveland now..59 degrees this morning...loving it compared to what I dealt with in Phoenix. I'm in Pittsburge and today will be like a nice fall day. I don't think we are even going to hit 70..
High octane Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 I'm ready for fall, also. Unfortunately freezing weather & snow come soon after. In the fall we get cooler temps, but then I have to rake and dispose of leaves, then freezing weather and snow which I don't care for either. I really would like to see summer lengthened by another month and of course winter shortened by a month also. Wishful thinkin' I know.

Phoenix, 2 weeks of winter, 6 weeks of fall, 6 weeks of spring, 18 weeks of summer, 20 weeks of hell.
Rob Hall Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Phoenix, 2 weeks of winter, 6 weeks of fall, 6 weeks of spring, 18 weeks of summer, 20 weeks of hell.I can't believe I spent 9 years there...I enjoyed some aspects of living there, but glad it's in my past now..
High octane Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Phoenix, 2 weeks of winter, 6 weeks of fall, 6 weeks of spring, 18 weeks of summer, 20 weeks of hell.I was in Arizona last June and it was a bit "toasty" at the time with record temps I believe. But of course it's a "dry heat."

Tom Geiger Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 New Jersey... 4 months of winter, 8 months of road construction!

martinfan5 Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 Phoenix, 2 weeks of winter, 6 weeks of fall, 6 weeks of spring, 18 weeks of summer, 20 weeks of hell.On plus side, we can almost build year round here.
mikemodeler Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 The weather here in NC can be somewhat unpredictable as well. A week ago yesterday we had a cold front move thru and our dew point dropped to about 50 degrees, which is unheard of here in July/August, and a week later it was back to 70 degrees. We learn to deal with the heat and humidity, a small price to pay for rarely having to shovel snow. I would rather have a longer fall and spring than the long cold winters I grew up with in Northern Illinois. After 12 years here, I think I have adapted to this climate and could not envision going back to the cold and snow of the north. Some of my friends think I am crazy for living here where they think it is "hotter than Hades" and I think they are crazy for living where I think it's way too cold for a human!

waynehulsey Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 Was talking to my buddy in the Seattle area last week and he was saying it was like being downwind of a campfire; or since we're both from Orange County CA when one of the Santa Ana wind driven fires got going.
