Rocking Rodney Rat Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 I'm not sure if I posted this before, if I have forgive me. It just seems appropriate given all the bad weather we've been having as of late...loosely based around the old AMT Don Garlits WynnsJammer kit. Most of the decals by Slixx...more pix here: http://public.fotki.com/jferren/digger-rail-with-fu/. -RRR
Metaldrumm Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 You build very nice ,got ur fundamentals down pat, also nice fade job.
iBorg Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 This is a kit that is maligned by many for the engine looking wrong. The scoop you used seems to remedy all of those concerns. Your build perfectly captures the feel of a 1963 dragster.
Snake45 Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 Very, very nice, and really captures the feel of the era.I like how you painted the front wheel spokes gray. No, it's not as nice as PE wire wheels, but it's a 100% improvement over just leaving them chrome as they come out of the box.
Rocking Rodney Rat Posted September 16, 2017 Author Posted September 16, 2017 I'm not a huge fan of photo etched parts. I use PE seatbelt parts and wire looms and that's about it. For many parts, wire wheels, grilles, etc. PE parts lack depth and distract from the overall look. Just my opinion, if you like them and want to use 'em, go ahead! -RRR
DrKerry Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 Looks nice, great build!!! Is the chassis shortened up on that?? Looks shorter than the Garlit's chassis...
gasser59 Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 Really nicely done RRR. I especially like the subtle paint fade and your choice of scoop.
Rocking Rodney Rat Posted September 20, 2017 Author Posted September 20, 2017 Looks nice, great build!!! Is the chassis shortened up on that?? Looks shorter than the Garlit's chassis... Yes the chassis is a shortened Garlits chassis, I took out one section. This one:
