afx Posted October 13, 2017 Author Posted October 13, 2017 (edited) Settled on the location for the Go-Wing and pin mounted it along with the side mirror. Edited October 13, 2017 by afx
FabbricaP Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 Wow. Looks great already, the mods fit perfectly!
afx Posted October 14, 2017 Author Posted October 14, 2017 Thanks Jason. It took some surgery but I was able to get the shaker to fit.
Ron Hamilton Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 I cannot wait to see how you work out the fender vents. I love it!
afx Posted October 16, 2017 Author Posted October 16, 2017 About those fender vents Ron, I've decided not to take that risk and instead build a phantom Hemi Barracuda. Thanks Brandon. Some engine work: added a pre-drilled distributor from R&M added a photo-etch flange to the water outlet cut the oil filter free to make painting cleaner/easier added mounting pins to various parts
Mike Chernecki Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 Looks great so far. Regarding the fender vents, have you taken a look at the MCG '71 'cuda detail set, it has the vents included.
afx Posted October 16, 2017 Author Posted October 16, 2017 (edited) Thanks Mike. Yea I bought the MGC set. My concern is getting the 1/24 scale gills blended into the fender above the crease without damaging it. Hopefully Revell will get with it and gives us a '71 Cuda and a '70 AAR from this excellent tooling. Edited October 17, 2017 by afx
Dann Tier Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 Nice job on the stance and grill!!!!......looking great!!!
afx Posted October 17, 2017 Author Posted October 17, 2017 Thanks Dann. I cut the mufflers free from the exhaust which allowed me to: Install and align the exhaust tips before paint Install the rear valance before paint
Dann Tier Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 Thanks Dann. I cut the mufflers free from the exhaust which allowed me to: Install and align the exhaust tips before paint Install the rear valance before paint That's a pretty slick idea with the mufflers.......I like to glue all the body parts together first as well, because(as you know), those lower front and rear valances can be buggers to fit, and you don't wanna have to do it with the finished parts. Q: are you going to cut the grills out, and use the MCG inserts?
smhardesty Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 Thanks Dann.I cut the mufflers free from the exhaust which allowed me to: Install and align the exhaust tips before paintInstall the rear valance before paint That is a pretty slick trick. I've got to add that to my growing list of useful tips. Thanks!

Q: are you going to cut the grills out, and use the MCG inserts?I don't want to risk the work I already have in the body by potentially butchering the gills. The grille, front valance, rear tail-lights and wing should set this apart from the base kit Cuda.
randyc Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 That grille looks even better with that sdpace out of it. I always thought the headlights were too far apart.
250 Testa Rossa Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 Man, that looks great. I also like that you're using steel wheels on this. Nice job!
Bob Ellis Posted October 27, 2017 Posted October 27, 2017 Would love to have a MPC body to work with but they are hard to find and expensive when you do.when i do find an MPC 71 Cuda they require new A posts , filled divots and more
FabbricaP Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 Very nice and clean! Did you re-chrome the front bumper? It looks so crisp!
afx Posted October 29, 2017 Author Posted October 29, 2017 Thanks Jason, no the bumper is the kit chrome. Revell did a nice job with this kit.
426 pack Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 Looks good I will be watching this one. Do you know what colour you are going to paint it?
