IJ001 Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 Second completion this week was this out of the box build of Revell's fourth gen' Firebird. Paint is Tamiya Metallic Orange straight from the rattle-can, looks to my eye like a perfect shoe-in for GM's 'Sunset Orange'. Not too much else to say except I didn't realise until I saw these photo's that the Turtle Wax was still hiding in some of the recesses... it's fixed now and I've also run a black wash in to the door joints which looks much better. All comments, questions and criticism welcomed as usual. AFN Ian.
matthijsgrit Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 Nice build!I really like these cars...
crazyjim Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 Nice color and it appears you laid it down pretty well.
Hawk312 Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 Nice work! I think you are right....that looks very much like SOM, which is one of my favorite colors on the 4th gens. I dont know how you guys can finish one in a week. Im happy with one month.
espo Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 Very impressive build. The wax build up in the little seams doesn't always appear in the first 24 hours.
IJ001 Posted September 30, 2017 Author Posted September 30, 2017 I dont know how you guys can finish one in a week. Im happy with one month. Erm... I only finished it this week, David, I've been working on-and-off on this one for about two years !! - I get distracted very easily by bright and shiny things. Ian.
shoopdog Posted October 1, 2017 Posted October 1, 2017 Very nice looking, love the color. Did the kit have window mask or is the black trim a result of very care brushwork?
kilrathy10 Posted October 1, 2017 Posted October 1, 2017 One of my all time favorite cars....And colors......Very nice work, despite the Turtle Wax....
IJ001 Posted October 1, 2017 Author Posted October 1, 2017 Very nice looking, love the color. Did the kit have window mask or is the black trim a result of very care brushwork?Cut my own masks & sprayed at very low pressure. Ian.
