Much nicer proportions, it becomes a good looking car. Unfortunately, the real one is so tiny, nobody much over 4 feet tall could drive the chopped-and-sectioned version.

Those directional "hands" on the B-pillars look cute.  I have no clue what car it is, but the fender-mounted mirrors say something to me.  We'll see if I'm correct . . .

True. All the "Adult" interior space is vertical in these.

Still don't know what it is. Suppose then it must be like chopping and sectioning an American Bantam, you'd end up with an oversize pedal car needing a major hole in the roof so you could sit in it.

Don't knock it - Graham Hill used a modified one (still looked standard but would do near enough 100mph) to travel to races all over Europe during his time as a top level Formula 1 driver. Would cruise all day at 80mph - 5 or 10mph more than the standard cars top speed. An ex-girlfriend of mine drove one with some verve back in the '80s.
