Lizz62 Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 (edited) Got a new promo to mess up. Supposed to be a 71. Looks like a 70. Not sure what I'm gonna do to this one. Edited October 20, 2017 by Lizz62
Lizz62 Posted October 19, 2017 Author Posted October 19, 2017 I'm thinking just stock with some nice rims . polish the plastic.
Ace-Garageguy Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 Looks really clean. You just reminded me I've wanted to do a straight-axle "what if" gasser from one of those.
StockBoresMe Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 I used to manage an autozone in battle creek michigan. Thia guy came in with this maverick. He had a torino cobra jet and a tornado hit and dropped a tree across the midsection. It was all origibal and numbers matching. Haggerty cut him a big check and let him keep the remains of the torino. So he pulled the powerplant. Built it up and put it in it. One of my top 10 "met in real life" cars

StevenGuthmiller Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 Looks pretty good to me as it sits.Paint the interior, polish the plastic, add a little foil & some detail paint & you'd have a nice model. Steve
disabled modeler Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 Id love to have that just as it is. Id just repolish it myself its too nice.
Mark IV Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 Got a new promo to mess up. Supposed to be a 71. Looks like a 70. Not sure what I'm gonna do to this one. Only difference 70 to 71 was the ignition moving from the IP to the steering column.
Lizz62 Posted October 20, 2017 Author Posted October 20, 2017 Only difference 70 to 71 was the ignition moving from the IP to the steering column. no wonder i couldn't tell ! Thanks
Lizz62 Posted October 20, 2017 Author Posted October 20, 2017 Only difference 70 to 71 was the ignition moving from the IP to the steering column. that means this is a 70.
ChrisBcritter Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 Or, taking another route (like the Pan-American Highway?):
disabled modeler Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 I went all the way on one already Then Id say factory stock just like it is. We once owned a Maverick Grabber...fun cool car.
Lizz62 Posted October 23, 2017 Author Posted October 23, 2017 Took it apart . says 1969 1/2 mav. Polished the body. Chrome tonight
randyc Posted October 24, 2017 Posted October 24, 2017 Here's my 74 in progress with the wheels you sent. Yes the top is incorrect, but it was a tribute to wife's first car, and it was 4 door. She and her mother loved it.
Lizz62 Posted October 24, 2017 Author Posted October 24, 2017 Heck yea , I like that ! I like the top.
Jaguar man 21 Posted October 25, 2017 Posted October 25, 2017 Those rims look awesome on it!! Now if you need me I'll be on eBay buying a mavrick promo ?
