Richard Bartrop Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 Lightweight Amphibious ATV from Russia. It would look right at home in Fallout.https://www.rbth.com/lifestyle/326503-chelyabinsk-8-wheel-aatv
Ace-Garageguy Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 Bizarre. Round-headed riveted construction, a water-tight door, and articulated in the middle. Very Russian indeed.
Ace-Garageguy Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 This one should be a little easier to scratch-build.
espo Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 I remember seeing a vehicle like these on YouTube some time ago. Don't remember under what subject heading I was looking but the vehicle was very interesting all the same. The video showed it on land and a frozen Lake first. It would go well over 50 m.p.h. and then it went out into the water and drove around fast enough to put up a good wake. Next they drove it up onto the Ice and drove off at high speed.
Mike999 Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 (edited) The Russians built a whole bunch of different "Aerosani" vehicles in WWII. All riding on skis and powered by aircraft engines. The simplest version had 2 open cockpits, holding a machine-gunner in the front seat, and driver in the rear...with the radiator for the water-cooled engine right above his head. Trumpeter and other companies make scale models of these vehicles in 1/35 and 1/72 scale. Edited October 31, 2017 by Mike999 error
Fat Brian Posted November 1, 2017 Posted November 1, 2017 That would look right at home in the Fallout universe.
Mike999 Posted November 4, 2017 Posted November 4, 2017 One of the best "Engrish" names ever for a kit! This eBay auction ended just now. I was scanning "Ending Soonest" and happened to see it...
unclescott58 Posted November 4, 2017 Posted November 4, 2017 This one should be a little easier to scratch-build. Somebody posted a link here to this about a year? More than likely Greg? He's always finding and posting interesting stuff here.
Ace-Garageguy Posted November 4, 2017 Posted November 4, 2017 I build one of those . It just doesn't get any cooler than a prop-driven snowmobile with a ring-mount drum-fed machine gun. Very nice job on that, sir.
Dragline Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 SoryTurd really just doesn't capture how much of a turd it really is. That totally slayed me....
