I have had this idea kicking around in my small brain for a while:

So, I came up with a couple "gluebomb" Cougars:

And an open box '68 Shelby Mustang:

I used my favorite "destruction" tools, and did some plastic surgery:

Here is a rough look at what it looks like:

After bunches of filing, and sanding, and filing, and sanding, the Mustang top fits fairly well:

This is where it stands, at the moment. My next move is to remove the hand-brushed gold paint, which is still tacky! I have no idea how long this has been painted, but it's evident there is no primer under the gold. I think the plastic is going to be okay, but I'll know more after I get it cleaned up.

Thanks for checking it out, everybody!!

I've never heard of the Mercury Puma. I dig this a lot!

I didn't want to call it a Cougar, so I renamed it. LOL

This build raises questions. Like, "Why not?" and "What if?"

Keep those photos coming. This could be sweet.

I've kitbashed a few using those very questions! LoL

Well, at least you named it Puma and not "older hot lady". Sorry....

The work is looking good.

be fun to do up a California special with the left over roof and mustang body or another one I had seen as a drawing had a cut down wind shield and the custom back seat cover from a t bird

I got this hood from Time Machine Resins, in Nashville:

This is a hood for a 1968 Cougar GT-E. It is fairly smooth, with only a couple bubbles along the edge. It fits very well, but I may need to trim it a bit to allow for paint.

You have the body parts blended so well it really makes you wonder why Mercury didn't do that way back when they could have.

I've been thinking about doing this exact same thing!  I am quite shocked to see the 67-68 cougar body being cut up, as I cannot find one to save my life!   I am watching this one!

I might have had a hard time chopping up an unbuilt original. This old gluebomb had seen its better days, tho, and I thought it was time to recycle!! LOL
