Greg Myers Posted November 7, 2017 Posted November 7, 2017 Looking in the "Search" section for some information on chassis painting / detailing and many articles came up, minus most of the photos. Is this another nail in the Model Hobby's coffin ? Sure made for a frustrating search.
aurfalien Posted November 7, 2017 Posted November 7, 2017 Hi Greg,While not 100%, this plugin has helped me view PB based image links;https://chrome.google.com/webstore/search/photobucket embed fix?hl=en-USThere are two of them from different developers. Try both to see which you like best.
Greg Myers Posted November 7, 2017 Author Posted November 7, 2017 Wow ! That really works, thanks Aurf
Xingu Posted November 7, 2017 Posted November 7, 2017 Just remember, a lot of wonderful models were built long before the internet became easily available. Where there is a will, there is a way.It is a shame that a lot of information is rendered nearly useless because the accompanying photos are no longer available.
Dave Van Posted November 7, 2017 Posted November 7, 2017 If that kills the hobby......it was in ICU and not doing well..........so many options out there.....
aurfalien Posted November 7, 2017 Posted November 7, 2017 Wow ! That really works, thanks Aurf Hi, It did? Cool, I was some how thinking it wouldn't. I was thinking this as things break more often then work.
aurfalien Posted November 7, 2017 Posted November 7, 2017 Awesome! THX! AurfHi,Glad I could be useful. Now if I could only get that darn 308 done, I'd be happy.I'm very close, its been curing for a few days. Will revisit it tomorrow night.

Ace-Garageguy Posted November 7, 2017 Posted November 7, 2017 (edited) A GREAT DEAL of how-to and reference info has simply disappeared, not just related to the model car hobby either. When my own account goes down in 30 days, thousands of my photos will go away...here and on real-car, engineering, design-and-styling and several other boards as well, and many hundreds of pages of useful technical information I've posted will become largely useless. This has happened to countless others already.A nail in the hobby's coffin? Probably not. A good kick in the head? Definitely. Edited November 7, 2017 by Ace-Garageguy
Spex84 Posted November 7, 2017 Posted November 7, 2017 It's a real kick where the sun don't shine, but it's also a fantastic excuse to post new material! What I'd like to see, though, is the old barren threads kindly killed off somehow so my searches aren't full of nothin' results.I don't think it's necessarily a nail in the hobby's coffin--but places like Facebook came out of it free and clear, while other online communities (forums, blogs) got hammered hard. I prefer forums to social media platforms! The forum format is most informative and stores information well...until something like the PB money-grab comes along.
