mchook Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 That's too cool! When I was a kid, my fathers friend had one in his junkyard that we played in. It was an old transport car for the airport. I forgot all about that until I saw this great model. Thanks for the memories.
Tom Geiger Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 That's fantastic! Great work on an iconic subject that I've never seen done in scale. What did you start with?

droogie Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 Excellent model! I'm also wondering what you started with.
crazyjim Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 Checkers must have run forever. I remember when every taxi in Chicago was a checker. Many, many years ago a friend bought an old taxi. Repaired, painted, and drove it for years. He called his "chick magnet". Very nice work on yours.
Belugawrx Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 Nice stretch Greg I remember seeing that junkyard photo a couple years back... Well done

I thought it was either the Franklin Mint car, or R&R did a resin kit many years ago. You did a very nice job of modification, especially now that we know you did some metal work too!
NYLIBUD Posted December 5, 2017 Posted December 5, 2017 It's like the bus in the movie "Dog Day Afternoon".A stretch limo.
