I've just got an email from revell.de listing their 2018 releases and amongst them I see a new tool 356 Porsche Cabriolet in 1/16 slated for November release.

I'd prefer the Coupe but surely it will follow

Too bad they aren't 1/25.

They wouldn't be 1/25 anyways, they'd be 1/24 with AG doing them.  Which is a pretty pointless exercise considering Fujimi has like 82 of them (or so it feels like) in their Enthusiast Series.  As soon as RevellAG said "We're doing new tool 356s in 1/24 scale", Fujimi would mass reissue the EM kits and I seriously doubt anyone would buy a 1/24 one from Germany.  Especially considering what a sinkhole riddled mess the Panamera has turned out to be.

Fujimi makes a 356 in 1/24 scale? I believe you James. But, I've never seen one as far as can remember. Now, I'm not a big fan of the 356. So I've never gone looking for one. But, if I saw it on the shelf of hobby store someplace, I might be willing to buy one. This is were Revell has a big advantage over Fujimi. I'm more likely to see a Revell kit (or RoG kit) in this country, than one put out by Fujimi. Either way, Revell or Fujimi, I am less likely to buy something in 1/16 scale than if were in 1/24 or 1/25.

Whoa! I just went over to eBay to see what Fujimi's 1/24 scale 356s sell for. Too rich for my blood. I'm sure Revell could sell one at a much lower cost.

The Fujimi/Testors 356s are pretty common. If you wait and watch you can get one for $30. A few have sold in the last month or two for as little as $15-25.

It’s actually a really cool, very detailed kit with, I believe, pistons and all in the engine and choice of wheels, etc. I’ve never actually constructed one though - sold the couple I had.

I've heard they are quite nice... never had one as I'm more of a 911 fan than a 356 fan.   Fujimi has some very nice 911s in the Enthusiast Series also.

The Fujimi 356 and 911 kits are mostly little gems, and I have a fair few of each. Stance usually needs to be corrected, but they're otherwise quite nice...though not absolutely perfect in proportion, but very nice.

I'm kinda surprised if Revell elected to do an all-new-tool large-scale 356, they didn't do a 4-cam Speedster. By FAR the most exotic and valuable of the breed. I always found the B / C cabs to be the girl-cars of the bunch.

Guess I'll have to have one though, having had just about every flavor of full-scale 356.
