RestoModGuy Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 (edited) First finished build of 2018, Revell 1997 Corvette Coupe. Excellently detailed kit, so much better than the AMT versions. This the second build of a series of Corvette Coupes I'm building Bright Red with tan/black interior and with the same custom wheels (Pictured C2) Paint is Duplicolor Bright Red with several polished clear coats. Only custom part is the aluminum exhaust tips. C2 in the series Edited January 4, 2018 by RestoModGuy I had listed as a 1999, its a 1997
espo Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 Beautiful looking build. The paint is outstanding.
Jon Cole Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 Nice, deep red. Accented by the deep offset wheels. Sweet work.
droogie Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 Great looking model! Any fit issues? I have the C5R kit and, judging from the build up photo on the instruction sheet, it looks like there may be an issue with getting the body down over the chassis.

This kit everything fit great and minimal flash. Body mated to chassis no problem on this stock kit, I have not built the C5R, sorry can't confirm

Hello, From what I remember, this kit fits very good. Only the engine/transaxle fit to the chassis may be a challenge. I remember cutting and extending the torque tube for a better fit years ago. The C5R kit is a very different kit but no major issues. It is actually simpler to start with. Been a race car, fitting the body over the chassis is always a careful operation. Thanks,
bisc63 Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 Nice work! I love how authentic this model appears in your first photo; not instantly recognized as a model, but more like an actual car. VERY well done, and the red is just beautiful on this body.
kelson Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 Gorgeous paint job!hard to believe that car is almost 20 years old now.
bbowser Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 I have this exact kit on the bench right now. Hope it comes out 1/2 as nice.! Well done.
donb Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 I think it looks stunning! Just a stunning car. Excellent work.
Hmann68 Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 Very nicely done! From what I can see of the interior, it looks great too!
Roger U Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 Really cool build. The paint is beautiful and the wheels have the right look and size for that car.
slusher Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 What a super fine build! Excellent paint and color choice!
