time for a mock-up - needed to know if i had the ride height nailed - i’m pretty close - within a scale inch - i can make a small adjustment to the wheelbase and the fr and rear tracks … but at least i know that nothing is crooked

Gracias

the suspension leaves  are wrapped in thread - europe’s race circuits were not yet paved in 1925 - used black thread - but probably should have used white or beige- anyway - i brushed on shades of brown, grey, and oil stain - this will be a neat contrast with  the polished and machine turned finish of the body work ….

Those look great! They look more than reasonably beige, to me. You fixed it, right up!

For the benefit of those poor souls who live in the land locked regions of our great country (I’m so sorry) - THIS is what a real boat marina looks like !  AND - THOSE are REAL boats !!   My apologies - on behalf of all of us south floridians - for the gross spectacle foisted upon race fans by Liberty Media and Stephen Ross - we’ll probably never live this down -

So it’s time to finish the engine - making the carbs - one for each cyl bank - they are perched under the manifolds and are - once the engine is installed - onscured by the chassis rails - oh well …

this particular 2LCV ran the early season races without the superchargers - this is the spec for the restored car …

and i took a break after - after watching the Miami Grand Prix … got all worked up and decided to put down a deposit on …..

Thanks for your post

these two shots were taken at Amelia 5 yrs ago - by 1950, the French no longer were racing vanguard - understandable - given the events of the previous 12 years - In 1925, the French were at the point- the absolute cutting edge - the 2LCV V12 is the engine that Enzo studied carefully ….
and 1925 must be considered a critical yr for the development of the race car - where huge strides were made by Miller, Deusenberg, Delage, Alfa Romeo… maserati was taking baby steps …

The carbureters were painted Tamiya mica silver and glued to the manifolds - they sit next to the chassis rails and nearly disappear once the engine is in - just a few more engine parts …

Pico!  Here’s a part that i couldnt resist adding …. It is the tach line housing for the left cyl bank - but there are two tachs on the dash - so why isnt there a tach housing and line for the right cyl bank on  the restored car ?  And i dont see one on the engine photos on the Rev’s research site - ???
