rastta Posted March 12, 2018 Posted March 12, 2018 My brother-in-law gave me this old AMT kit - it was opened and mixed in with some other Model A parts. Decided to do a hot rod - as it came with some parts to do a hot rod version. However, I decided to eliminate the fenders all together. Filled in the body where the fenders were supposed to go in the rear. Unfortunately it was missing the windshield so that's a no go. Modified the head and taillights to fit them on without fenders. Used slicks from my Cobra kit and spare tires from another kit as well as the chrome wheels. Headers are actually one of the optional intakes from the cobra kit I just finished. Went with a Testors Pearl Orange paint job along with a black and gold engine. Was fun doing something that wasn't just kit based.
espo Posted March 13, 2018 Posted March 13, 2018 Very nicely done. One of my favorite colors. An idea for the Windshield you said was missing. Just make a paper template of the Windshield. Use either the plastic stiffeners from a new dress shirt, my usual method, or the some clear plastic from a Hobby Shop. Cut to size and use a clear adhesive.
