Merkur XR4Ti Posted March 22, 2018 Posted March 22, 2018 Sometimes models can relate to family. This is a ‘66 Chevy Impala kit; my parents owned this car in this exact color scheme when I was very young. I even made up license plates for the model to match the ones on the real car (RI plates PX429). My very earliest memories include this car. Willow green over a dark green interior. Paints were from MCW.
espo Posted March 22, 2018 Posted March 22, 2018 Very nice looking build, any additional photos ? My '66 Impala SS was Danube Blue with Black interior.
tmb727 Posted March 23, 2018 Posted March 23, 2018 Nice. I did the Monogram '65 Impala a few years ago- also in MCW Willow Green - for exactly the same reason that you did your '66. Our parents had good taste!
bill lanfear Posted March 23, 2018 Posted March 23, 2018 Love it! I am currently building a 65 SS my uncle had and am also referring to memories of long ago. Well done on yours!
BigTallDad Posted March 23, 2018 Posted March 23, 2018 Nicely done! My dad had a '66 convertible in the same color; his was a 327, though.
disabled modeler Posted March 23, 2018 Posted March 23, 2018 Very nice...! My family owned a 66 HT and a 66 wagon once...Id like to make replicas of them too.
