purvissp Posted August 20, 2006 Posted August 20, 2006 Just finished this one up in time for a little ride with the AC on full blast. No hot rod, but would probably get down the road OK with the 454. This one is MM British Racing Green inside and out. This was the low rider kit, boy those tires and wheels in that kit are awful. I picked some tires out of my parts bin and used some ralley wheels I cast. Think this looks a little better. Hope you like this one.
MrObsessive Posted August 20, 2006 Posted August 20, 2006 OOOOHH that is nice! Yes, those wheels do make the car! Chevy would be well advised for the next MC to take styling cues from that one........instead of the current one which just looks strange to me-------front end restyling notwithstanding!
crispy Posted August 20, 2006 Posted August 20, 2006 That is gorgeous. I love those old Montes. My dad had a black 454 he had to sell, per the cops. He bought a 70 Nova ss then! LOL Anyway, I love it, the green fits perfectly! Chris
Zoom Zoom Posted August 20, 2006 Posted August 20, 2006 Just gorgeous 8) It reminds me how good Monte Carlos were, and how grotesque GM let it become
Jeff Johnston Posted August 20, 2006 Posted August 20, 2006 I agree whole heaqrtedly. I am not typically a Monte Carlo guy (like them but noy my fave)...but this one is just really dead on beautiful ! The solid dark green with the white walls on Rally's looks just perfect ! Very nice !!!
ismaelg Posted August 21, 2006 Posted August 21, 2006 Nice looking Monte Carlo! That's one of my favorite years Monte. The wheels are perfect for it. I'm not a big fan of green, but the only green car I've ever done is that exact same color Thanks,
Billy Kingsley Posted August 21, 2006 Posted August 21, 2006 That's really neat Steve...I just got two of the latest reissue and a build like that could sway me from making them both NASCARs!
Eric C Posted August 21, 2006 Posted August 21, 2006 Excellent looking Monte Carlo. Very realistic looking build too. The color and wheels are great.
Ramble Tamble Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 wow you made that thing look goooood! looks like one my grandmother had years ago that was the faded yellow color. I belive the car is rotting away at my grandpas farm out in cayuga ontario. I agree the freakin wheels that come with the kit make me wanna eat a pair of old socks. I got his kit a couple weeks ago and I got careless and glue bombed the feces out of the engine. luckly, I woke up out of that daze and built the rest of the model as cleanly as possible.
Guest zebm1 Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 pretty build steve. Hey skirmagee! Unless yu want to get busted for speeding in here by tha.... CHAT POLICE I suggest that yu adhere to just about tha only hard, fast rule in here. Yu need to put yur real name in tha signature box, like tha rest of us who have been busted for not keeping our gas pedal foot offn tha gas pedal.
Ramble Tamble Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 lol sorry I'm not hip to this jive yet hehe. I have added my name-O
bsoder Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 That is one good looking "Monte" excellent build ....B
