' I believe this was issued within the last 10 years(but I could be wrong) '

You are correct.

What I am saying to AMT is this.

'Enough with the Bucket T kits!'

Here. This picture shows an early hot rod that looks a little 'dopey' but it shows how they were built once upon a time.

Fenderless AMT '27 T and '32 touring cars have that 'jalopy' thing about them too.Just a fun rod!

How is that yellow 27 T a "Bucket T kit"??? It's the 27 T phaeton, exactly like you asked for in your first post. What you said right here, showing you, they have issued the 27 phaeton within the last ten years. You asked why they haven't , but they have <_<

AMT has come out with 3 or 4 model T and model A kits the last 10 years but no touring car or phaeton.

It's time to reisssue the '27 T touring car and '32 phaeton

Engine looks like a Chevy 409.Don't see many of those in kits. That engine sort of got wiped out by the 427 and 396.

Aurora did a series of 22 different 1/32 scale hot rod kits, like the one in your picture.  21 of those kits used the same Chevy 409 block, with different carbs, manifolds and exhausts. The only non-409 was kit #603, the "Snap Dragin" '27 Ford tall T coupe.  It used a Ford 390 engine.

And thanks to Casey for the info about the Good Guys Taxi being based on the MPC '28 Lincoln. I never knew that. But the Good Guys box art is so fugly, I never cared what was inside or what it was based on.

Haven't a clue where you got that from.

Same message to AMT.

Time to put the '27 T Touring and '32 Phaeton out again.

We don't need a another bucket T kit.

Open touring cars are a nice addition to coupes and roadsters.

Call Autoworld store and leave word for the higher up's that 'I want my '27 T Touring and '32 Phaeton now!'

If you want a '32 Phaeton so much, go on eBay and buy some.  Those kits are selling for less than $5 in some cases, meaning you could get 4-5 of them for the price of a new Round2 reissue.

' eBay '

New AMT kit would be better.

Put the box art from the 'Blue' paint job kit on it.Make it a flat box for nostalgia.

Add a Buick Nailhead engine and the flathead Ford with the overhead valve conversion heads.

60's wide ovals and Cragar SS mags.

Throw in a full Carson top.

Dual windshields. That extra one for backseat.

Build it fendered or fenderless rod.

New kit would be better.

Whoops!

Forgot the early Chrysler Hemi engine.

The '32 Phaeton would be a good kit with that engine.

Here's a pic of mid fifties early 60's kit with a Hemi.

Call me confused, but with the subject being the AMT '32 Phaeton and '27 T's, why all of the posts about the Monogram, the Revell and even the Aurora '32's? What did I miss here??

These threads often go down the winding road!

They are inspirational suggestions.Good box art.

Last one showed how a '32 Phaeton would look good with a Hemi in it.

Just build it like the cover. It will look plenty cool.

Early and mid fifties custom/hot rod style.

Custom enamel color with pinstripes and down the road you go!

Lots of builders kit bash or you can use parts in kit and get close to these other kits.

These other pictures show the style not the exact car.

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for those changes to happen. Maybe the retooled Vicky goodies.

I think there is an 'in' to selling them on these two kits and some more.

Keep a steady supply of the classic Fords for starters.

'32 5 window coupe

'32 roadster

'49 Mercury coupe

Reissue them every five years instead of the 'big wait' 10 years.

They are sort of doing a pretty good job right now just missing a few of the biggies.

' '32 Roadster, Coupe, Sedan, Touring, and Victoria all together as a set in one box '

That's a great idea!

They could call it Pro Modeler Set or recycle the Pro Shop label.Prestige?

They could use  a '29 set too.Just like current but throw in Ala Kart and pickup and a woody.

'27 T set too or all the T's.'23, '25 and '27.Include the C cab and pickup.

Could call them the Collector's Set.

Good idea!

And they could sell them in plastic bags to keep the costs down. Maybe put in some resin parts too to keep interest up.

or was that to keep interest down and cost up? I can never keep that part strait.

' could sell them in plastic bags '

Let me say AMT has been doing good serving the Experienced Modeler,Advanced Modeler, Pro Modeler. What ever you want to call them.

Witness the Exclusive Hippie Hemi molded in metallic and in a flat box.

As far as plastic bag items.

Since Round 2 took over I've seen two bagged items for sale.

Molded in see through blue Hippie Hemi body and something else.

I say 'if they find it.Bag it up and put it on the website!'

They could probably find over 100 interesting sets to put up there.

I think it is a mindset.Put out complete kits or nothing.

Experienced modelers can figure out what to do with extra parts.

They are not going to ge Duh? Then glue them to the roof.

Pro Modeler is Revell - now Blitz's trademark.  Pro Shop were pre-painted, and there was nothing Prestigious about the Prestige kits other than some little car show trophies and the "rope" stanchions.

Recycling meaningless names for the sake of doing?

' little car show trophies '

Another great idea!

They could call them Championship Sets or Trophy Winner sets.

Back to the '32 Ford Phaeton and '27 Ford T Touring.

That T Touring is way overdue for reissue.

It would fill the spot until they reissue Tom Cognotti's T coupe.

The open cars are real nostalgia kits even in custom and hot rod versions.

No.Those names are for the complete Model T, Model A and '32 Ford sets.

The ones with all the versions AMT made in a set.

They are overdue to reissue '32 Phaeton too.

They should put out the classics every 5 years.Maybe every three or 4.

So who is Tom Cognotti. Could you show a picture of his coupe. What year was it?

Tom Cognotti's T is one of the all time big time AMT kits.

That and XR6, Wilhelm's Wonder and the Ala Kart.

Look's like it's spelled with a T.

It's a '22 or '23.

It's a full fendered custom car.You can make something close out an AMT '25 double kit.

Here's a pic.

Not only did you get the name  wrong  the car is a T not a coupe. Also his first name was Don not Tom.  Please check your facts before posting. Google is your friend.

The value of this site is people posting meaningful information. Three errors in one post is not meaningful information.

FYI you are going to be waiting a long time,  Tognotti's T was irreversibly modified into another kit.  It wouldn't be cost effective for Round2 to retool the kit. They are spending most of there money on creating scifi kits which is a much more lucrative product.
