mchook Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 I started with an old box of parts from a "Moving Violation" kit & an Ollies 37 Ford kit. The chassis is from the 37 Ford & cab from the Willys. I cut the rear fenders from a 40 Ford coupe kit to use for the bed. Gonna go old ratty tin on new running gear. This is what I have so far...
espo Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 You're off to a great start. I like the chassis setup.
mchook Posted July 30, 2018 Author Posted July 30, 2018 I started to build the bed. I used the sides from a 50 Ford pickup & the 40 Ford coupe rear fenders. I had to widen the fenders a little & made the inner fenders.
Ace-Garageguy Posted July 30, 2018 Posted July 30, 2018 Interesting project. Looks good. Like the Winter Jack on the bench too.
dino246gt Posted August 6, 2018 Posted August 6, 2018 That looks so cool so far! Great creative mind, and the building skills to make it happen!
mchook Posted August 7, 2018 Author Posted August 7, 2018 Thanks guys. I got a little paint on & it's way too clean, but it wont be for long. Gonna build a wrecker boom for it too. I just can't stop building tow trucks.
mchook Posted August 12, 2018 Author Posted August 12, 2018 (edited) Well, I got a boom built & started on some weathering. Edited August 13, 2018 by mchook
Ben269 Posted August 13, 2018 Posted August 13, 2018 This is really cool, I like the idea of creating a better box than the Willys originally came with. Great job on the weathering, too.
mchook Posted August 20, 2018 Author Posted August 20, 2018 I think it's done. Gonna put some more pics under glass later.
Ben269 Posted September 10, 2018 Posted September 10, 2018 I saw this at the Goodguys show today, looks awesome in person!
mchook Posted September 10, 2018 Author Posted September 10, 2018 Thanks guys! 20 hours ago, Ben269 said: I saw this at the Goodguys show today, looks awesome in person! That's funny, I sold it to a guy 2 weeks ago on ebay & I sent it to Colorado. I hope he won something with it because he spent a pretty penny on it.
