Checking my email, I saw an ebay notification indicating that an item I viewed had a price change:

"Dear stupid,

The VTG_Johan_1962_Chrysler Newport_Hardtop you were interested in has been relisted at a new price.

We're always looking for the best deals for you!"

The original price was $29.99. It was raised to $34.99. :D

If it's a Johan '62 Chrysler Newport, I'd snap it up!

Considering that Johan never produced one! :D

You actually have an ebay profile with the name "stupid"?

Gonna sue me for theft of intellectual property? :P

No, ebay must assume anybody who thinks that a five buck price bump is a great deal is:

NOW: $34.99
Was: $29.99

Is it an unbuilt kit?

$29.99 sounds like a pretty good deal for one of those.

Steve

It is actually shown at $19.99

The link he gave showed the auction as ended. I saw the model in the sold category from the same seller and it sold for $29.99. The completed listing is here if you want to check it out.

EDIT: OK, when I saw this auction earlier, the price was listed in green, so it was sold. Now I see it as "relisted", so perhaps the buyer backed out? I'd take a stab as it but the hood is jacked up, and the original wheels are missing as well as the couple tires.

With The Modelhaus out of the picture, good luck finding wheels for that without paying an arm and a leg!

EDIT Part II: Looks as though the model has disappeared altogether. So either someone bought it offline, or he pulled it for whatever reason. Oh well...........

Not sure if this even matters, but when I used the provided link to look at this Chrysler up pops the Turbine car. This model was little more than an unassembled Promo.  I can see the value in the '62 Chrysler whatever, but the Turbine model has been reissued several times, so unless it's something you feel that you just have to have then I wouldn't bother.

The Turbine Car which now pops up in that link is a mostly built up full detail version, not a promo. This one has, among other things, opening doors, hood, trunk and separate front fenders.

Parts are quite easy to find for this one.

There are a lot of them around.

I have at least three of them & will probably not use the stock hubcaps for any of them.

Especially due to the fact that they're not correct for a 300 anyway.

Not correct for a 300H, to be specific. And they're too flat for the non-letter 300. The Revell ones from the Newport convertible are much better.

ETA: Should have mentioned the letter cars had 15" wheels - the rest had 14" with the standard wheelcovers.

Yes, and the Johan kit represents a 300H.

The custom wheel covers from the AMT '58 Impala are a fair representation of the 300H wheel covers.
