Hotrod 97 Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 I found this Shelby in my dad’s old collection, still factory sealed. This will be an OOB build. Here is what I will be working with.
espo Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 That is a nice kit, especially when you think about when it was first released. Makes a very handsome model.

Hotrod 97 Posted October 14, 2018 Author Posted October 14, 2018 Got the engine painted, detailed, and pretty much put together. Next I’ll finish the engine and start on the chassis.
66belair Posted October 14, 2018 Posted October 14, 2018 That is a nice kit to work with. A guy in our local club just built one, his was slightly modified with a 99 cobra engine, rear suspension and eaxhaust, haven’t built one of these in years.
Hotrod 97 Posted October 15, 2018 Author Posted October 15, 2018 Got the engine assembled. It needs the spark plug wires yet. Now on to the chassis.

Hotrod 97 Posted October 17, 2018 Author Posted October 17, 2018 The spark plugs were tricky, but I got them on.
Hotrod 97 Posted October 17, 2018 Author Posted October 17, 2018 Chassis work is done. Next is the interior.
vamach1 Posted October 17, 2018 Posted October 17, 2018 Very clean work. If it's not too late you can paint the alternator silver or steel with some copper dabbed in. The gas tank would usually be steel. There are so many pictures online to refer to for painting ideas if you are going for a factory stock look.

Hotrod 97 Posted October 25, 2018 Author Posted October 25, 2018 Starting work on the interior assembly. Got the firewall and engine installed.
Hotrod 97 Posted October 26, 2018 Author Posted October 26, 2018 (edited) Some progress pics of the interior. Edited October 26, 2018 by Ty Gontz Corrected grammar
Hotrod 97 Posted October 26, 2018 Author Posted October 26, 2018 Interior is finished, now on to the body.
afx Posted October 26, 2018 Posted October 26, 2018 Clean paint and assembly work Ty. You're well on your way to becoming and excellent builder.
