We're looking for things you started more than a year ago--the older, the better--and then got stalled on for months. Got anything like that laying around that needs to be finished?
prostreeter69 Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 Hey Snake I will post up pics of the 48 Ford I have. It was started about five years ago. Jon

prostreeter69 Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 Hey Snake Here it is. Revell 48 Ford, I put Mercedes headlights. Still need to finish the interior and figure out the motor.
Straightliner59 Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 I just discovered that the earliest photos I have of my junior fueler were taken on 12/31/2000! I'm going to finish in under 20 years!

Vince66 Posted April 5, 2019 Posted April 5, 2019 I'm in with one of many HO 1/87 trucks I need to finish the one below is over 3 year's in the making so i'm in with several. Will have a lot of scratchbuilding going with these main frame rails, engine's & trans and axles for starters. Let the plastic shredding begin also posted under big rigs on the workbench as cow chow power lol.
Vince66 Posted April 5, 2019 Posted April 5, 2019 Got the bug going. Tested a Molotow 1mm chrome pen as a test wow what a difference. Started on the the rear locker axle being scratched using a sylvan scale models axle as a guide. It's a start heck might even try plumbing this truck ROFLOL ? Also here's the base truck i'm using as a guide might change up colors or not
Vince66 Posted April 5, 2019 Posted April 5, 2019 Thanks BelugaWRX. Stalled at the moment can't find all my frame material that I just bought set it down it ran and hid as plastic sometimes fears me lol ?
Snake45 Posted April 6, 2019 Author Posted April 6, 2019 Okay, here's my BOYD Round 3 project, a Monogram '66 Chevelle. The kit is from the '70s, very possibly an original first-issue. I didn't like the way the flip front end fit when I bought it, so it went back in the box for a decade or so. Every so often I'd pull it out and have another go at making that front end fit, and then give up and put it away again. Did this at least six or eight times over the years, most recently about a decade ago. I never did like the goofy tube front chassis of the car, and at one point glued on the front part of an AMT '69 Chevelle chassis. Then I decided that wasn't going to work for me, and cut it off again and tried repositioning the tube chassis by drilling its mounting holes in the firewall a little higher. I don't like that much either, and will be grafting on the front chassis from a Monogram '70 Chevelle this time around and see how that works. Last time I played with the thing, I managed by careful filing and sanding to get an acceptable fit of the front end on the right side. But when I got it where I wanted it on the left (driver) side, there was an unacceptable gap at the lower edge. I'll be taking care of that this time around. I don't plan for the front end to tilt, but it will be lift-off. I'll also be trying to straighten out the “caved in” look of the forward edge of the roof by careful heating and bending. I THINK I can fix this—we'll see what happens.

This Guy built a Prostreet car using part of the Max Rat chassis. It was in a collection I got that was built in the early 90's, shelved, and it appears to have collected dust for 20 years. I forgot that It was a build up. I thought it was a stalled project... I immediately disassembled it and cleaned everything up. I'm excited to see yours come to life... I've had a few of these over the years, the Red Malibu was the other issue... I hear Revell is going to Re-issue the kit soon, so I look forward to seeing it molded in white for the first time... Hmmm?... now I might have to paint this one white...?

Atmobil Posted April 6, 2019 Posted April 6, 2019 Ok, I did not make the deadline but I'm in for round 3 and will continue work on the Bajabug. I don't have much building time and have not done anything for almost a month now but the easter holiday is coming up soon and maybe I will get some building time then?

While looking thru boxes I came across a lot of items I really need to finish the freightliner cabover will be first then it's open season on what I grab. All HO scale 1/87th Freightliner tested on my stock W900 chassis that will also be replaced. Also found my muffler material yee haw baby. The trailers will also get a make over the Bud of California is a stock trailer. The trailer with the red TK reefer is in it's stripped bare black plastic with plans for it also. The red reefer trailer also has an aftermarket working slider as seen by the 2 pics. Trailer floor painted with MM aircraft interior black, reefer painted with CB&Q Chinese red from tru-color. The kw in a test shot to figure which way i want to go with it. Then there's the construction trailer not sure what will pull it. The IH 4300? Can is going bye bye as it's too new for my era will be replacing it with a 2000 series IH cab making it a standard cab water tanker that will have working lights. That's all for now still looking for the rest of my evergreen frame material. Toodles. Edited April 8, 2019 by NothingAsFineAsaW9
