Well, I got the foiling done and it was a real PITA. Like picking fly specks out of pepper ?.Worst foiling job I have ever done due to the faintly engraved window trim and the paint wanting to chip off around the edges. I used a primer sealer when I painted it because I knew the Duplicolor auto touch up paint would etch the plastic. Don't know why it chips so easily.

Anyway, here are the not so great results. This is about four hours worth of work.

Well done for persevering with it! You had some tricky shapes to contend with, I wouldn't have enjoyed it either.

A few steps backward for me! I thought I had it all figured out but guess not!

In fitting the four cylinder into the V6 chassis, and once the transfer case was added into the mix, the tranny and transfer case are hitting the interior floor! So I have sanded down top of tranny and just redid the trans mount lower. And here I thought I was merely assembling the chassis and would’ve had it up on wheels last night! Argh!

The fun of fitting alternative components eh? I seem to have been doing much the same thing on my B.O.Y.D Corvette and another kit over the last week - a continual process of trial fitting, then shaving, then trial fitting, etc etc......

Big test coming up, as soon as the tacky glue sets.

Must be satisfying to reach that stage? Looks like quite a bit of scratchbuilding there. Careful storage now required as it looks quite vulnerable?

As to my own entry, it got what I hope should be its final coats of colour yesterday evening - photos to come in my WIP thread. Looks good, once I reach the stage of getting a decent paint finish them I'm inspired to keep going with the rest of it.

Ah! Finally figured it out!  I will cut a second transmission hump out of a spare chassis to widen it, that should house the transfer case. Otherwise the transfer case nests well into the chassis.

My other issue which skewed how the interior bottom sits against the chassis is that when I fit the new trans mount into the chassis I didn’t realize it pushed the chassis ONE FRIGGEN 1/25 SCALE INCH WIDER at that point.

Of course the other day I was seeing red and never saw this. So it was best to walk away instead of hurling it at the wall. This morning with a clearer head, a spare chassis for reference and my scale ruler, the issue jumped out at me and I was able to fix it.  Onward with better direction and a bit wiser for the next project!

Sometimes walking away is the best thing.

Tim, you're in! What's the paint on that Mustang? I've been looking for that exact color for a '69!

According to the last update I made back in September 2014 the paint is Ford Green Jade metallic.

Work has recommenced by finishing the engine.

The master cylinder and wiper motor have been fitted to the firewall  which  has been glued to the interior tub.

Interesting! Seems to be a '77 Ford Truck color.

I was kinda hoping it was something more current/available.

Thanks! B)

Here's one more....

This was also my first time I used "Kit-Kat" foil around the windows....

A black-on-red Dart with "Kit Kat" foil around the windows? I could swear I bought that at the local toy show in 2017 and "rescued" it a couple years ago....:unsure::lol:

So started this over a year ago, just kinda hit a wall, so put it back in the box. Got looking at it a couple weeks ago, and thought lets finish it. Almost there. Got the Honda trail 70 from another member here,  (Thanks). Some of you may remember the Burban and the scratch built camper.  Getter done !!

A few steps further on the "Blingstang" today... Blacked out the engine bay and added silver trim around the window frame.

These wheels seem to be a nice fit for this build... I like the look. More later...

I put the Jeepsters aside for a bit because they were driving me crazy!   A learned skill, instead of aiming them .at the wall. I may have to finish the in modified version first before the 4 cylinder pickup since I did a lot of mods which bring up questions on how certain things go together.

In the meantime I’m working on the Model A boat tail speedster which is making me happy. I need happy right about now!

Good to see it's still moving on.

Corvette has taken a back seat for the last couple of days, as I managed to polish through the paintwork repair again. This time I've repainted the entire front end, and it's now drying out in the airing cupboard and I think I'll TS13 clearcoat the whole lot.

Back for another progress report... For years I searched for a store bought product that would remove unwanted paint from models...  Super clean is the best (in my opinion) I just wish it was discovered (or invented) 30 years ago. It would've been a game changer. I got rid of alot because of bad paint jobs. This interior spent 10 hrs in the tank and it's ready for a new life...

Good to see that you got the old paint off the interior. The black interior goes well with the pink paintwork.

An update on my Mustang. The interior has been painted Revell Tar Black which is a very dark gray with some satin black detailing. The instrument panel decal was left on the backing paper and glued in place with the glass cover attached with Klear.

She's got a black interior agian. I'm really trying to put some "Muscle" in this build... Not easy to do with a pink mustang convertable...???

Looking good, VERY sharp! Personally, I'd have just "leaned into it" and done the interior in Testor White Lightning (white pearl/metallic) but hey that's just me. Drive on! B)
