TarheelRick Posted November 15, 2018 Posted November 15, 2018 That is one beautiful A-bone, everything about it looks to be period correct. Would like to find a set of those wheels.

With the Thunderbird rear sump oil pan (just as I had said and just as shown on Fred's terrific A coupe) along with the external oil pump and lines (just as you said above). Always learning new things in this hobby. Thanks for the added info, Túlio .....TIM 13 hours ago, Dave Darby said: I was going to say the same thing as Tulio, Tim. Then again, like the man said. It's what the builder feels comfortable with. At least that's what I think. The Y-Block, at least in the U.S., is a harder motor to come by than a flathead V8, and few people actually saw one in person. I think the model is awesome, and has no flaws. I just noticed the oil pump detail, as I drive a Galaxie with a 292, and I use to work on those engines for friends. Early this year I replaced a oil pan gasket, and to do so, one has to deal with the oil feeding tube to the pump, so the oil pump is fresh on my mind.

Man, this came out great. Thank for taking us along for the ride. i especially like the scratchbuilt x-member and intake setup Can you share your source for the Ni-Chrome tubing, please?

I grew up on those engines, and I had 3 of them in my garage not so long ago. Plus one in my 57 F100 I used to own. And other than the oil pump feed is perfect. Only thing I'd change is the zip code it lives in.

Cpt Tuttle Posted November 17, 2018 Posted November 17, 2018 Nice low buck rod, and I like the different touches such as the missing pegamoid on the roof.
