stump Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 Well, can't say I'm sorry this one is done....Not that it wasn't fun, it was...but it dragged on for nearly 10 months..... .. Converted JoHan S & M Drag Cuda to street duty....Amt 71 Charger supplied the modified chassis, numerous other parts from various kits, some scratchbuilt parts...plus loads of blood sweat an tears.... Final motor shot, all installed including fuel system, Detail Master dizzy, pulleys and battery hardware, coil and radiator hoses, which I tend to forget to add at times... The last detail I added was this fold-down fuel cover/number plate. I made a filler neck and added a cap as well.. There's a load of pics @ Fotki detailing all the conversion work carried out...Cuda build up... Thanks for taking the time to drop in, comments, good and/or bad, all most welcome.. Cheers Greg
george 53 Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 Well Stumpman, It certainly came out pretty nice for al the time invested! It sure looks like it was worth it! I love the color, an Nick F-40 should like it too!The Hemi decal UNDER the final color coat was a spiffy idea, an came out great! Now, I'm waitin ta see how your Nova comes out(I KNOW you got one in the wings),or if your gonna build a"road warrior" for the "Deth race" build off. Either way, I know it'll be another winner! Exellent Build Greg, I Likes it Alot!
stump Posted August 20, 2008 Author Posted August 20, 2008 Hey, thanks George..Yeah, was a fun build (most of the time..) but I'm glad it's finally done... Whadda ya reckon bout those steelies.....I told ya I'd put'em to good use... Many thanks mate. "Death race" build off.....hmmm, may have to look into that....... Cheers George Greg
MrObsessive Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 (edited) Excellent 'Cuda Stump!! The color, the wheels, the stance, everything fell together great! I still say that Johan made the best body of the '70-'74 'Cuda.........why they never made a full on stock kit is beyond me. Don't worry about the length of time to finish............I started my '55 Ford originally in August '05---------shelved it a few months later when certain parts were unobtainium, and then started on it again last October. Now it's heading on a year and hopefully in the next few weeks I can call it done! Edited August 20, 2008 by MrObsessive
Nick F40 Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 Well, love the Cuda's and it's blue! Great engine detail!

stump Posted August 20, 2008 Author Posted August 20, 2008 Thanks so much guys, really glad you all like it ... Bill, yep..I'd love it if the old JoHan tooling was still around so that Revell or similar could get hold of it, just add their own "newly" revised chassis to it.....save me all the work next time..... Nick, yah..I'm a little partial to blue myself.....got a couple of blues in the collection now...... George.. ..thanks mate, yes, I think they make the total build too...I like steelies heaps..... ajulia, thanks man. ..yeah, I'm really pleased with the motor in this one...couple of areas need tidying up for the next one..

mikelo Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 That turned out really nice. I like the stripe and all the detail. The wheels do look good. I don't think it matters how long it took, as long as it gets done. Mike

Yep, that's been my biggest problem...with too many projects on the go, getting them done, is taking time... Cheers.

stump Posted August 21, 2008 Author Posted August 21, 2008 Thanks so much guys..I'm really pleased you all like it as much as I do... I've really gained a lot of satisfaction in completing this one.....one of my most favoured builds to date.... She's off to her first public comp. tonight....a 2-day Show in Brisbane, Qld. Brisbane QMHE (if the link dont work, try again later, the server has been real busy..) I don't expect to win, just be there to make up the numbers....my local club is also having a large display, cars, planes, military....so it should be a great weekend.. Cheers guys Greg
RadRidesByDan Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 Nice Clean build. simple looking but very agressive. 2 thumbs up
VW Dave Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 I'm a sucker for E-body Mopars and hockeystick stripes from the get-go, and I'd also like to concur it looks the business in blue. Very cool Cuda!
stump Posted August 26, 2008 Author Posted August 26, 2008 Thanks so much Dan and Dave.. Gotta let you's know....(I'm still fairly high on this..) I managed a Silver Medal (2nd place) at the QMHE on the weekend.... You reckon I ain't happy.......you betcha.......Still getting over how popular it was...... Cheers guys.

Of course you won something with it......the model is outstanding! Not very many modelers build an accurate body 'Cuda model these days as that kit is kinda hard to get-----that's one of the things that made it a standout!
george 53 Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 Greg, Well thats just great that you won the Silver!!! I told you it was a great build, your peers just backed me up on that! Congratulations Mate, I KNEW it was a winner!!!!

Here's a link to some pics I got......only 146, had to bin some..(blurry....some dufus forgot his tripod adapter and the first half of the mornings shots were a tad shakey.... ..) There's a bit of everything here, mostly autos....a few trucks (not many there this year) some really kool dio's........ QHME 2008 competition Thanks again guys..
