Thanks for posting. If I was into Cobra's I would love that info. :D

Sorry about the clarity.  Later tonight I may scan them which will make them a lot crisper.

The old Speed Channel ran an hour-long documentary once on the Cobra coupes. It was great and I wish I'd recorded it.  A guy interviewed in the show had a chance to buy one of the coupes for $4,000, IIRC.  He went to his father and asked for a loan.  Dad said something like: "No, it's just a beat-up old racing car. You'll never get your money back out of it."

If we only knew (and had the money too).

Gary shared the PDF version of this article with me awhile back.  A must read for any Cobra fan (casual to hard core).

That is a well regarded article Gary, and as we can see it is providing continued reference for members of MCM even after 16 years since you wrote the article.

Rex,

Your warned me didn't you!  I have a PDF of the article if that would help.  And thank you very much my friend.

Gary

Not sure if you can load that here.  I'll scan it and post it to this thread.

Thanks guys for posting the PDF file and the Bob Peeples article.  Unfortunately Bob Peeples passed away several years ago but he would have loved the attention the Cobras get here on MCM.  Rereading the articles today I realize how much more information is available now than back in 2002.

Per an article by Mark G. And Dan Baker, Bob passed in 2011.  I'd love to see some close ups of all his scratchbuilt Cobras he had in progress which I believe are inow n the MCB museum collection near Salt Lake City.

Some nice photos of Bob Peoples' Cobra projects, that are in the Model Car Builders' Museum, on page 2 and 3 of this thread.

Thanks for the link with the Bob Peoples photos.  Bob sent me copies of the photos he took of the restored Flip Top.  If anyone is doing a detailed build I could provide them via CD, too many to post.

Cobra Retrpspective (although written in 1985 that in ancient history now).  We have come a long way with resin kits and a good 427 kit but I'd still like to see a nice 1/24 289 racing version in plastic and a 1/25 427 and not that Sunny thing.

Rex, where did you find this article? I had forgotten all about it.

Model car Journal October 1985.   Here's one you did not write.

Thank you Rex for posting the articles.  I had built an earlier version Monograms Ultimate Cobra of CSX2002 as a gift of appreciation for Wayne.
