MVC-002F

I call this  "The Beverley Hills Hornet".  It's a bash between the Olds truck and the old Monogram Green Hornet show rod.

Note that these are many of the custom parts in the kit.  The engine, body, windscreens, and the wheel / tire set are all from the kit.  The grill is chopped down to fit.

That is the bed from "Jethro's rod", cut down to fit.

I have a very old article cut out from Model Car Science about building and weathering the car kit built as per the original in the TV series.

That would be a great thing to have!!!

I have one on my "Honey Do" list for the wife. That is her favorite TV program!

I have this kit. please tell me that the hot rod engine is not a Chevy.

It's an Olds engine.

Considering when the rod car was made for the TV show, it's probably a 400 or 425.

The even intake port spacing isn't like any Olds I know, or SBC, BBC, Caddy, Pontiac, or Ford either with the paired center exhaust ports (which a Y-block has, but which also has very different paired-and-stacked intake ports).

Looks like some inaccurate blobular mashup to me...but I could be wrong.

According to the Bareass site it has the engine out of a '69 442 and an automatic tranny so ?? [could be anything on the real car, base Cutlass 350 V8 probably] But, yea, the kit engine is total fabrication.

and the intake pipes are just attached to the hood.

He was kinda known for "fast and dirty" so I don't really believe much that's posted on the site but, here's a link,,
