ewetwo Posted February 1, 2019 Posted February 1, 2019 I bought this 1929 Model A at a garage sale. It was partially started. This is what I came up with. I was trying to make the seat look like worn leather. It looks ok.
stavanzer Posted February 1, 2019 Posted February 1, 2019 Looks great to me! I like the yellow wheels.
ewetwo Posted February 1, 2019 Author Posted February 1, 2019 Thank guys. I looked on line and a lot of them had yellow wheels. The box showed silver and I tried that first. But it just didn't' look good. The yellow makes it pop!
bbowser Posted February 1, 2019 Posted February 1, 2019 Can't go wrong with a Model A! I like your backdrop as well.
ewetwo Posted February 2, 2019 Author Posted February 2, 2019 Thank youBruce and Steve. Bruce. The back drop came with the clear display boxes you put your models in for show. I could send a copy to you in a message. I told one member to print it out on card stock. Then you could cut each one out and hang them in your diorama. If you have one.
Tom Geiger Posted February 3, 2019 Posted February 3, 2019 Nice! That looks like a Monogram Model A. I've had a thing for those lately! Did you paint the wheels? A couple of kits in that series are molded in yellow and I've noticed people had painted bodies and such, but wen't with the kit plastic color on the wheels. And it looks just fine!
mike 51 Posted February 3, 2019 Posted February 3, 2019 ^^^ Nope...it's an AMT. Monogram never made a stock 28-9 Model A. Sorry.
ewetwo Posted February 3, 2019 Author Posted February 3, 2019 Thanks Tom. It is an AMT kit. The box showed the wheels silver but it didn't look right to me. I went online and did a search and most had the yellow wheels. If that is original to the car I don't know. But the majority of the images seems to thing so.
ewetwo Posted February 4, 2019 Author Posted February 4, 2019 Thanks Tom. It sat around for years before I decided to do something with it.
