I have a few on the go, mainly out of necessity. It gets colder here in the Great White North, eh?

My garage is insulated, but not heated yet, so from November through to roughly now, I can;t do any spray painting. Which means I cannot complete bodies or frames, etc. So I start a kit, get as far as I can, then start another.

I got some painting done on the week end though, so hopefully I can get some things completed.

I'm trying really hard to not start anything new until at least a couple of these are done.

Actually, I've resigned myself to the fact that the fun is in the building, not the end count that matters. Building is the stress valve that I need, required deadlines to complete them just makes it another job.

Besides, once they're finished and displayed, they invariably get broken and then they go back in a box again anyway. Vicious cycle.

LOL, I hear you! To me, building is the fun, progress in the build is my motivation to keep going, and eventually a nice model in the showcase is my reward - and, in a way, "proof" of both my fun and motivation. I found that if I get stuck in too lengthy builds, both fun and motivation can get lost for the time being and I pack in the "hard" build for a while in order to start an easier one.

I have many projects under way at any given time. Some are waiting for a solution to a problem or for the weather to improve enough to be able to paint. Currently wips include a resin 1923 Ford winter equipped speedster, a 1947 scratch built 16' Great Western Deluxe travel trailer ,repairs to a 1909 Ford touring car street rod I originally built for the MPC contest series in the 1970's.and a chopped 1936 Ford roadster. It's always something ain't it ?

My bench is always filled with multiple projects...............some of them even get finished!

What means dis word, finished?  LOL!!

But seriously, I have maybe 3 or 4 that are on the benches

right now. But there is another 10 or 15 lurking under the

big bench waiting to be rediscovered!!  (hopefully!?!)

Ha ha! It is! I just meant I can hardly see my work bench most of the time as it’s covered with stuff so much it’s buried! Lol. Maybe I need to take two aspirins and lie down awhile!!??

Amen Tommy!  Modeling is meditation!  When I build I shut out the world and concentrate on the task in front of me.  I usually leave my bench after an hour or two feeling like my stress from life has melted away!

And it's in the small triumphs!  Finishing a small assembly,  seeing something mocked up for the first time... these are the things that draw you back to the bench every evening!

We all identify with that one. You can have 12 feet of bench space and still wind up working in a 12x12 inch square!

When I'm nearing completion of the build,  I'll clean off the work bench. I have a rolling cart with a white top.  I lay out all the parts on this, so I see everything I still need to do.  Then I take my surface and clean it from sanding dust and such.  I'll often scrape my glass surface I work on clean from paint and glue.  Then I'll set to finishing the model.  This can be the stage where you can only glue one item at a time, with a drying break.  I can run up to the model room, do this,  then go back downstairs for an hour or two, return to model room...  repeat!

Once the model is finished, I take a set of photos.  This is where I see the final details that you don't see when looking at the model directly.  I see what I need to touch up and do so.    Then the model goes in the place of honor... sitting right next to the base of my big screen TV in my den so I can gaze at it!   The model stays there until I finish another one... which can be a long time!   LOL
