yellowsportwagon Posted March 19, 2019 Posted March 19, 2019 (edited) Ok I shall be the first to hack one of these up into a stock car. This kit is awesome. So far I’ve opened the wells a little added a fuel fill opening and fuel overflow. Dechromed the sides and filled mirror mounts. Lowered it and made screwjacks. MarkJ Posted March 20, 2019 Posted March 20, 2019 I've always wanted to do a Raymond car. Maybe this will give me the inspiration I need to follow through some day. So many builds , so little time.
yellowsportwagon Posted March 20, 2019 Author Posted March 20, 2019 This will be the car. Got the rollcage made last night. Wife’s is out of town so I have lots of time!!
MarkJ Posted March 20, 2019 Posted March 20, 2019 That's going to be great. What decals are you using? Is that car orange or red? Who is Zhong Shan? Questions, questions, questions.
afx Posted March 20, 2019 Posted March 20, 2019 Always enjoy seeing street cars converted to race cars - nice work Tim.

Questions, questions, questions. The decals are Powerslide. Paint is Ford Performance red. It’s a very orangey red . I was thinking Zhongshan Shan is the eight year old running the mold machine that made the kit.
yellowsportwagon Posted March 21, 2019 Author Posted March 21, 2019 Got the frame rails capped. I hate hollow frt rails! Made the engine cage. Painted the interior and floors today. A few decalsare on too.
yellowsportwagon Posted March 21, 2019 Author Posted March 21, 2019 (edited) Finished the decals early this morning. Cleared at lunch at work. Edited March 21, 2019 by yellowsportwagon
Heartattaq Posted March 21, 2019 Posted March 21, 2019 That is coming along great. Love the paint and decal work. I noticed the #44 car in one of your pictures. I just came back to the hobby after some time away, have you posted pics of that build anywhere, where I could take a peek at it?

It got back burnered for a while it irritated me. I take some more tonight.
Heartattaq Posted March 21, 2019 Posted March 21, 2019 ahh ok. What was it about the model that irritated you?

Belugawrx Posted March 22, 2019 Posted March 22, 2019 Man Tim you are cranking out some beauties ! I'm taking notes on your front frame work;)
yellowsportwagon Posted March 24, 2019 Author Posted March 24, 2019 Got some more done today the only fit issue I’ve seen with this thing is the rear bumper. Trim a little on the back of the qtr taillight opening fixed it right up. Bare metal is done windows in window braces in. Seat bolsters on. Final test fit.
afx Posted March 26, 2019 Posted March 26, 2019 (edited) Not obvious what's left to do Tim, but it looks great. Edited March 26, 2019 by afx

MarkJ Posted March 26, 2019 Posted March 26, 2019 I don't know whether to give you kudos now or wait for the other 2 %. All joking aside , that is the best Friday Hassler build I have ever laid eyes on. Your model looks better then the real car. Let me ask you again. What do you use for the screen material on the grille? This is another Awesome build from your bench.
