raisin27 Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 (edited) I noticed the Toledo NNL theme this year is Pro Touring so I thought I should try and cobble something together. I dont know what got into me with this idea........yep its a 4 door! Just wanted to do something different I suppose. I dont have much MoPar stuff to pick from so Im going with the kit chassis. To add some life I filled in the engine bay gaps with sheet styrene. Added a front suspensiom from an old Dodge Challenger model, then painted and added a wash to try and give it som depth. The interior has Mercury Cougar seats, flocked flooring, console from the parts box, and arm rests made from evergreen stock. I will either be using a 69 Roadrunner or 70 Challenger dash. I was surprised what a difference removing the B pillar made. Turned this stodgy sedan into something almost sleek looking! Paint is Ford Wimbeldon White and Duplicolor Orange Mist. Chris guthro Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 Thats on Beautiful Car,but....It SHOULD be a 2 door. It would really comliment all the stuff you do to it. but very nice car
Dragon7665 Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 ^^^^^ With Chris, Very Beautiful Car , but got to disagree on the door count! Nothings wrong with a Kustom Mor-Dor Sedan!!

raisin27 Posted September 8, 2008 Author Posted September 8, 2008 Thanks everyone for the responses. I did finish the interior today, went with the roadrunner dash. Althought I think the Challenger dash looks better the Roadrunner seemed to have more of a "big car" look to go with the rest of the interior. I am still trying to decide on a mill to power this Mayflower........been considering everything from a modern 5.7 litre Hemi to a hot rodded slant six! I even bought an 08 Charger kit to get the motor, what a waste of money........the motor was molded into the engine bay! Right now I am leaning toward a big block. Something like a 383 or 400. I have a 440 six pack motor out of an old Challenger model I can use as a basis. I should have a few more progress pics up soon. Once again thanks everyone, Raisin

Spike Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 (edited) so is the AMT 05 300C Edited September 8, 2008 by moparkid999
randx0 Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 man oh man that is one sweet ride I think this build has "IT". great job ,just for giggles you should put a starsky and hutch flasher in the front seat!I really like this one.
raisin27 Posted September 11, 2008 Author Posted September 11, 2008 Here are a couple shots of the finished interior. I used the dash from a 69 Roadrunner, 69 Cougar seats, and a console from the parts box. The seat belts are made from masking tape, the arm rests are from evergreen stock, third brake light is made from scrap plastic, and the buckles and ignition key are MCG photo etch. Thanks for looking, Raisin
raisin27 Posted September 22, 2008 Author Posted September 22, 2008 Finally decided on a mill to power the "Project Mayflower" Plymouth. I origionally built a 440 big block but it just seemed a bit to normal, and besides what says MoPar more than HEMI? The original 426 HEMI's while being pretty awesome race mills were not known as good everyday drivers so I decided to upgrade the powertrain with a Modern 5.7 litre Hemi from a 2005 Chrysler 300. Thanks for looking, Raisin
