kilrathy10 Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 (edited) Here's a Ford F-350 from Brookfield Collectibles that was a Nascar race car hauler set... I know it's die cast, but it still too a reasonable amount of effort to get it to the finished product.... These conversions are super fun.... The masking and prepping were the hardest part.... I've built glue models that would have been easier to do, but MAN, it was a fun project!!!! And believe it or not, it's not ORANGE !!!! It used to look like THIS.... I messed around and bought one of these things off Ebay, and I was amazed at how good the truck was... It just needed some work, here and there, and it would be an awesome work horse... So I got to work.. Now, it looks like THIS.... I painted it red, and extended the step bar to produce what you now see.. I had already scratch built a 4 car hauler a while back... I really need to take some more pics of this outside.... Edited June 12, 2019 by kilrathy10

Sam I Am Posted June 13, 2019 Posted June 13, 2019 Hey JT, glad to see ya posting again. Looks good pulling that trailer. Are you going to build something out of plastic again...and orange? ?
Cpt Tuttle Posted June 13, 2019 Posted June 13, 2019 Certainly an improvement, and I see nothing wrong with a diecast rebuild.

I'm totally digging that black... I gotta do one in orange, but I think I will do one in black, too... That looks GOOOD!!!! I'm in love with these things.... True 1/24 scale, and you get a car and a trailer to boot.... At a fraction of the price of a Meng kit... Edited June 19, 2019 by kilrathy10

57peppershaker Posted June 20, 2019 Posted June 20, 2019 Love the repainted truck. I have a couple of 90's Silverado's to redo, shame the rear door windows are 'cast' and not clear and no rear cab window. Also just picked up an 05 Silverado that does have full glass, been looking for ages for 1. They are all due repaints and lowering . Going for this look, still looking for some nice aftermarket dually wheels though

I did one with one of the Jada models....I Haven't done anything with the trailer, yet; but Man, it came out good.....And that's just with raising it a bit and widening the stance with the regular wheels and tires.... And I had to do something with the truck it came with, too.... Edited June 20, 2019 by kilrathy10
