I have a Paasche H and it only came with 1 top (plastic). looking for extra jars and tops. Should I buy the Paasche glass jars? or has any body had luck with different brands (cheaper)? also I noticed that people are storing paint in them until the next time they spray. Doesn't the tube and the top connector dry up and get clogged? I like to get glass jars so I can see the paint amount, but what about the top? plastic or metal. I'm airbrushing just 1/24 cars at this time so if anybody has any advice on what jars I should buy and how many should you have on hand I would really appreciate it. Thanks

Being you have one jar I would suggest that you find one of the metal color cups for it. Just my opinion but I would think the jar would only really be needed when spraying a large quantity of paint, as in painting a 1/24 car body. If you get the smaller cup you can use it to spray things like the engine, rear axle, etc. Once you paint what you need you can pour the unused material that is still in the cup back into it's container, if you are using paint from a bottle. Cleaning the color cup is fairly easy and will make for faster color changes.

I do not store my paint in a closed siphon tube jar with a stopper. I don't spray often enough to have it sit that long. I know others here do and you will probably hear from them too.

If you are using paint not from a bottle I'd suggest getting a few empty jars with regular lids to store the left-over paint in.

Ya I use the metal color cup a lot on the H and also on my Badger 200 for painting all the smaller parts and also when test spraying different paints and blends etc.

I use glass jars, both the Badger and Paasche came with those and I use them when shooting larger areas. Both sets came with a jar and siphon cap plus a jar with solid cap. Besides those I have a Badger mixing jar set. I think it's six jars with solid caps and three pipettes. I mix my paint in those often. They are for mixing or storing paint only because they are smaller than the spray jar set with a different cap size, but very handy non the less. I don't think I could really like the plastic jar sets personally.

Doug, you shouldn't need very many bottles. You will likely only use one at a time. I only use the bottles when doing a car body that I will be putting multiple coats on. In between coats I will cap the bottle nozzle with a rubber vacuum plug, then squirt some solvent in the airbrush needle and spray it through a couple times to clean the needle and nozzle. When ready to paint again, stir the paint if needed and connect the bottle. I have never used the plastic bottles that came with the airbrush... I think cleaning them would be a pain. I love separate bottles and have them by the dozens. My original old Badger 200 came with a metal bottle cap that screws right onto Testor Model Master bottles and I have been using that thing for almost 50 years now. Hobby Lobby is now selling sets of 6 of these bottles for a VERY reasonable price. If you can't find a Paasche cap that fits this bottle, it might be worth making one by removing the fixture from whatever you can get and mounting it on a Model Master bottle.

I too like the glass bottles.  You can get the small size (1/2 oz.) probably at Hobby Lobby, or a hobby shop.  I like the 1 oz. you can get at Chicago Airbrush Supply; they are by Paasche and you can order them with or without the siphon style cap.  And don't forget to get the gaskets!
