These were too, I think it was meant to represent Sante Fe Blue that was an option on the Shelby Chargers and GLH Omnis.

For reference, this really, really clean looking '83!

The problem I've had with the Monogram kits is the swirl marks that are often present in the plastic. Must be something with the mold process.

I think it's how that plastic enters the molds and settles into place.

Atlantis could probably do okay with the five surviving stock-version cars, provided they don't have to spend too much to tool missing parts.

I'm not so sure these would be any more well received now than when they were new. The subject matter alone is obscure, and the styling still very polarizing. Maybe a very limited run of each (2,500?) would make it feasible for Atlantis, but even for specialty hobby retailers, these would be a very tough sell IMHO.

And aren't most if not all of them 4-doors? That cuts the appeal even more for many of us.

Still, if they'd reissue one or more in metalflake, I'd be tempted to buy one just to see if I could make it work. But y'all know me, I'm a little "off." :wacko:B)

I've got a couple of them.  All but the Plymouth differ from the SMP/AMT and Jo-Han Mopars in that they are different trim levels or body styles.  I wanted the Imperial in particular because it's a four-door hardtop, different from the AMT offerings.  I only wish I'd bought trim pieces from Modelhaus to make it match up with the hardtop and convertible.

I think it is telling that Revell didn't throw these kits out there in the mid-Seventies alongside the multiple piece body kits (which they spent some money on, to tool clear parts and add vinyl tires to them).

The Imperial Crown and Dart 440 are 4-doors. The others are 2 DR.

Hey, AMT reissued the '59 Imperial; so, there must be some interest in gaudy late '50s - early '60s Mopars. The early '60s, Chrysler products, with the exception of the 1960 MY, are unattractive to the point they are interesting; more so than the stodgy, boring, slab-sided boxmobiles from Ford of the same vintage.
