fiatboy Posted July 29, 2019 Posted July 29, 2019 I just love deep sump oil pans! I need one for the Ford SOHC engine I am putting in a '57 T-Bird. I am modifying a NASCAR chassis to put under it. Thanks.
Force Posted July 29, 2019 Posted July 29, 2019 If the engine is mounted low this is a much better choice than a deep sump pan as it's not much deeper than a stock pan. I'm using one of these for my 390/445 stroker I'm putting together for my 63½ Galaxie right now, the car is so low that I don't dare using a deeper pan but with this I get the additional oil volume anyway as it holds 8 quarts. They are not that hard to scratch build.
Jantrix Posted July 30, 2019 Posted July 30, 2019 The part would be small enough, it seems it would be very easy to modify one with some plastic stock.
afx Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 (edited) The Revellogram '66 Shelby Mustang kits (all versions) have a nice Cobra pan. Edited July 31, 2019 by afx
afx Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 And as for the SOHC, I really like the version in Moebius AFX Comet.
69NovaYenko Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 Is there a kitted deep sump oil pan for the 426 Hemi?
fiatboy Posted August 1, 2019 Author Posted August 1, 2019 Is there an after market source for a deep sump oil pan? Don't want to buy a kit. Thanks
larman Posted August 1, 2019 Posted August 1, 2019 There is a deep sump oil pan for the SOHC 427 Ford in the AMT '68 Shelby and I believe, the '66 Galaxie. Both are not hard to find and cheap. If you check on ebay, one of the parts guys might have one or a whole motor.
