The Hum3D website has hundreds of 3D programs for cars. You can buy this 2020 Corvette 3D print-ready for 300 Euros. https://hum3d.com/3d-models/chevrolet-corvette-c8-2020/?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Aug-20-2019

Has anyone tried to print a Hum3D car? I realize it is a complex project but being the first to sell a new car, even if it is a hollow lump with closed windows would seem to have some selling potential. For 600 euros, you can get a detailed interior.

Sounds like a lot of money. I'd hold out for someone to produce one in plastic or resin first.

Cool but no thanks. I'll wait for a plastic kit.

I'm sure Revell will do this if they can get the licencing from GM. IF they can, please, please, please, someone tackle them and get them to start doing their kits in 1/24 like everyone else. I'd also like to see them do the new GT500 as well, but would rather see Tamiya do it. They've got an in with Ford it seems, the GT and the GT4 Mustang in 1/10 (still thing they should of put that out in 1/24) so maybe they can get the GT500 into production.

Regardless of who does the C8, and I'm sure someone will,  300 Euros is insane.

You say it like 1/24 and 1/25 are such a huge difference . It’s not like comparing 1/43 to 1/8 ....

To answer your questions. Yes, it can be 3d printed. Yes, I have printed Hum 3d cars. I only pay the minimum for them , make them 3d printabe and print them out on one of my 3d resin printers.

Agreed 100%

I think Tamiya or Revell will release the new vet and I pray it’s 1/24 also. People don’t think it’s a big difference between 1/25 but I disagree. You lose potential in detail and at 1/25 you get into a toylike appearance.

It’s big enough in my opinion. I know others don’t share that opinion but 1/24 has a better scale appearance when it comes to the final assembly and finish of a model.

1/25 also makes an odd display next to the 1/24 standard of most models these days

Some subjects will be more noticeable than others, but yes, there is difference between the two scales, and I am with David, 1/24th for all new tooling moving forward from Revell.

What do I get for the $75? Is it like a curbside model? Does it come painted or can I paint it later?

You get a CAD file exactly as you see it in the op's post. There is no color unless the 3d medium has it. Outside of a solid peace, it's not 3d printable.

Thanks. I was hoping to get a 3D printed model. I can't do anything with a CAD file myself.

Thanks for your response, do you have photos of any prints?

There is a person in the 3D Model Facebook page that is working on a full detailed version. Currently he has the body that started for slot car racing.

Thanks, Len. What is the exact name of the Facebook page? I didn't find a page named "3D Model".
