Great news about the opportunity for in person measurements - terrible news about your bicep.  Hope the healing goes well.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes.  The MRI was yesterday and I'm still waiting on the next step and scheduling of the surgery.  If I keep my arm close to my body and don't elevate it too far, I can function.  Not lift mind you.......so I'm going to try to use the mill to finish the other bracket I shared as it's the X axis wheel and I'm only turning it.  The surgery is they drill the bone in the forearm and re-attach the muscle to it.  Simple enough right?   A pic....nothing gross I assure you.  Cheers to everyone and if I'm fortunate to get the part done I'll share it for sure.  Cheers, tim

Very sad news about your recent bicep injury Tim, I have to say this isn't your best picture, at least it's not my favorite of all...!  I hope, like all of us, that you recover soon and can quickly return to your normal activities.

The titanium bracket you machined is fantastic as is the case for the Lenco, it is the work of a great master! 👌

Ten years ago, I suffered the same injury picking up a heavy box the wrong way. The actor Mario Lopez also incurred the same injury and he had surgery. I did not have surgery and his arm looks the same as mine. You'll do just fine. Good luck and hope you heal well.

Thank you Francis & John, other than the bruising spreading and getting uglier since my last post nothing else has changed. I WAS able to finish the 2nd bracket today which put a smile back on my face.  I'm going to get a stand made for the trans next and then do the shift bracket / levers to finish it.  Cheers and thanks again to all,  tim

Tim I hope you get better soon brother!   It’s been said a million times already but man your project is jaw dropping. -Mark

Sorry to hear about your injury. I know it's got to be frustrating to just happen as it did. My wife had shoulder pain, and went in and ended up having a complete over-haul.
Shredded rotator cuff, tendons that had to be re-attached, etc. with no real injury to cause it. Best of luck to you for your recovery. It's awe-inspiring to see your work.

Regards,

Jimmy

Great work Tim, I know your original plan was to display the components separately from the body shell and these awesome titanium brackets confirm your intentions.

It will be spectacular to say the least!  Hope you will recover soon to continue to amaze us! 👌

Today was a day to smile.  First, my bicep IS torn but is still attached........upper part of muscle is suspected torn as well. Surgeon will discuss next Thursday my options. If a muscle like this is torn completely they strongly recommend getting it re-attached asap. Makes sense....but even partial tears can heal themselves.  They suspect this all occurred by possibly tearing my rotator cuff again.   Enough of that......so today my daughter & I drove 90 minutes to 3 DOG Garage in Boyertown Pa. Chris the manager was the nice man I met weeks ago that said he'd invite me down so he could put the Dyno Don Mustang 2 on the lift for proper pics and measurements to help me with my chassis.  The shop was closed but the car was up and it was just the 3 of us.  Seems they open their museum, which is stunning with regards to their collections only on certain dates.  The next open museum date is 4-26 and I'm planning on visiting to see it all.  Two buildings I was told full of very well known cars and all in spectacular condition.  I owe him big time.  An hour later and 90 pics taken and lots of key measurements and I'm all set to do a proper blueprint to do mine.  I'm posting 3 pics I took today that will make many of you smile.  Cheers, tim

And a pic of the Mustang II that I went down to take pics of.....many many more yet to go thru.......the Hardy chassis is all original from the front clip back..........WOW is all I could say.   Cheers ALL!!!!

First saw the Monocoque Mustang as a model built by John Teresi and interviewed by Doug Whyte on Youtube.  Quite the car (and model!).  Sound like you got goldmine's worth of pics for your blueprints

Count me a fan of John's too Brian.  He's a great guy and I miss his posts around here on our forum.   Thanks for the comment too.

Thanks Ian too, I got many great pics of the car itself and what's interesting is that most of my numbers on my blueprint were fairly accurate....most, not all.  So this will really help me along......you know I won't have it done in the next week or month for that matter.  I'm just slow.  Cheers, tim

Just the shifter handles/bracket but I got the trans stand made and painted and this gives an idea of what they'll look like outside of the car when it's done.   Cheers to ALL!  timimage.jpeg.c7cbee2f49693520004dbb614b6a978b.jpeg

Outstanding work on both the trans and engine, the two of theses are super detailed models without the body.

They look spectacular as stand alone models - I imagine a great sense of accomplishment being felt when you look at them.  Wonderful work.

This is absolutely FANTASTIC Tim, no need to tell you that I understand why you want to display these jewels outside the bodyshell, the spectators will then be able to fully appreciate the monk's work that you have accomplished! 👌

Tim, so glad the trip to the Lebanon show proved helpful. Wish I'd been able to go. Your transmission and stand results are amazing and worth staring at. Very sorry to hear about upcoming surgery and will be praying all goes well and quick recovery.

Your help on my projects has been MUCH appreciated though I feel bad they have taken a back seat to some 2 dimensional art the past few months. As all on here have said, you inspire and inform us. Thank you.

Gentlemen, these are the last pics of the lenco (at least until the entire car is completed and under glass.  I spent the week doing tedious, mind-numbing, fiddly, patience busting and all in all a PITA but the linkage is on.  Not sure pics will down-load but I'm trying capture all of the different angles I can for you.  Francis has inspired me to do my tank next and then I'll begin my drawings as I suspect I'll be post surgery around that time.  Thanks for you interest as always and the kind sentiments.  cheers, tim

btw, the lenco shift levers are PE from Futurattraction.  I only used his levers, everything I fabbed or grabbed from my parts stash.
