Cool Hand Posted November 18, 2019 Posted November 18, 2019 (edited) Just a fun build. Really like building these Aoshima kits to help maintain the skills and have a creative outlet to release and escape all the craziness of life and the world we all live in. Started with a Gran Chan kit and built it my way. Box art. Didnt want to use the kit supplied wheels so went with these instead. Painted with my favourite , Tamiya TS-14 of course. No wet sanding, no polishing. Just a quick coat of NXT Tech Wax 2.0. Edited November 19, 2019 by Cool Hand
iamsuperdan Posted November 18, 2019 Posted November 18, 2019 In my eyes, the wheels seem a little small, but the build is great. Paintwork is excellent!
Cool Hand Posted November 19, 2019 Author Posted November 19, 2019 (edited) Appreciate the comment Dan. Thats how they roll with this style of car in Japan. I guess you could say I built it in the Shakotan style. Which means a low down style car and I assume running the smaller diameter wheel helps to get them to sit lower. Chuckyg1 Posted November 20, 2019 Posted November 20, 2019 I don't believe I've ever seen this kit. Looks really good. Nice paint work.
Sandboarder Posted November 21, 2019 Posted November 21, 2019 Awesome 3rd gen Nissan Skyline!! Flawless paint work, the BMF n rims really pop on this one. The tail lights look 1:1. The Aoshima kits have some great options and these Grand Champion kits are great builds.

It’s kinda like 13” wires on a lowrider, it’s part of the style/culture and partly a way to get the car lower.

Amazing how many cool kits other manufacturers have produced when you go looking, more than likely have to import some from Japan though. Yeah they are odd balls, but alot of fun if you dont take them to serious and just enjoy them for what they are. Something different and great shelf models.
